sad to say that although I was eyeing up the elephant I walked away with nothing but a great experience. You be nice to that elephant ya hear..
Yip certainly was an awesome day, a most impressive turn out considering the weather didn't look all that stunning. Enjoyed catching up with people I hadn't seen for a while.
Also had an really cool ride home via danivirke, Just slightly faster than the trip there.![]()
Then ended up riding up to ratihi (sp?) on Sunday via the paraparas and back which was pretty cool as well. 800km+ in a weekend isn't too bad going.![]()
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.
had a good weekend and enjoyed the ride good to meet a couple of kiwibikers. got undertaken while on a hill amongst heaps of bikes which didnt impress me buy a green 150cc. came around a corner to see a guy and his lady pillion picking themselfs up on the last corner before beach which i think is the same corner the gsxr went down breaking ribs ankle and rist(guy with heart prob), i was told, lucky he made it that far looking at his front tyre. police seemed to be good sports, what was the go with that old police bike with the siren and lights i hope it wasnt a cop riding it. i got to ride with the last two bikes iv owned being a 00blade and a yellow/green tl which was very cool and going at a nice pace.![]()
Was a new kber, def not a cop. Had his brightwork wrapped up but asked the cops if he could ride 'covers off' and they said 'sweet'. He was stokedOriginally Posted by shadow

shadow, I was very impressed how you passed me on the back wheel. I'm sure I was almost doing the speed limit too ;-). I am amazed that somebody would have the stones to under take you on a 150? Sheesh there are some nutters out there.
Excuse my ignorance but is passing on the inside or outside on a motorbike dangerous?Originally Posted by quickbuck
One point is, whether it is dangerous or not, it is against the law to pass on the left unless you are in a separate lane or the other bike is stationary. i.e. you can't just duck past on the left on a normal two lane road or unmarked country road.Originally Posted by festus

Makes sense, something else that I've read is people freaking about being overtaken on the outside on corners? What's up with that?Originally Posted by merv
some do and did freak on being passed on outside but you shouldnt have to worry about inside unless on the track then its all good. but we where in heavy traffic and he was also going in between people. i think the outside is the only option on the road whether it on one or two wheels. as long as outside corner passing is safe shouldnt be an issue.Originally Posted by festus
Was planning to take it to the rifle range and shoot it with an unneccesarily large gun. Anyone got a better suggestion of what to do with it?Originally Posted by cowboyz
