Most people who use woke as an insult can't even explain what they mean. If, as has been suggested, it basically just means consideration for others I'm OK with that.

I mean it is certainly embellished, but behind each claim - we can point to objective facts:

The Left supports Palestine. Are all Palestinians Terrorists? No, but when surveyed, there was something like 70-80% support for Hamas amongst Palestinians.

The Left opposes deportation of people who have entered the country illegally. To the point where they are actively trying to stop ICE, setup sancturary cities, actively oppose the attempts to legitimate deport people.

The Left releases individuals with long criminal histories (including violent offending). Who end up committing more violent crimes, instead of being in Prison.

All of those things are starting to have real world consequences.

On the Alphabet front - The problem is that the current set of ideologies have real world problems that are dismissed - Biological Males in Women's sport is probably my favorite (the TERF vs Intersectional Feminist wars are great to observe from the sidelines).

Parents are also justifiably worried that an impressionable child, probably with AUDHD might see hyper-focus on "This is why I don't feel like everyone else" and seek Medical Interventions that will leave them will long-term health complications.

Even if we assume that the Parents are just hateful bigots, there is still a justified concern, for which the rebuttal argument is extremely weak (which is why they resort to namecalling).

And that is the issue - they have painted themselves into a corner where they cannot retreat (because to do so would undermine their claims) - and so the only option is they keep trying to push forward, alienating more of the general public.
