I do actually, some great music came at the start of the rock'n roll era.

My point was simply meant to be that to most people today, Ozzy was famous for being in a reality TV series, as you described so well.

I had a girlfriend who was a big sabbath fiend despite being somewhat younger and a classical musician. I prefered Maiden and ACDC when i was a kid but grew out of both only to appreciate them later.
Dangerously I thought Dio was a better singer. I'm not going to admit that to her 30 years later as she's still a bf.

There's a good obituary on the Guardian website, a bit factual but he lived quite a life.

In terms of technical ability, Dio is a vastly superior singer.

In terms of impact and Legacy, Ozzy wins (but not by much)
