To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
Bloody hell!Just freaking rediculous!
One would hope the senile blind old bastards license was taken away thou.
.
wtf!?!? can't even start to put into words what I think of that..
Not quite as bad,but this shows how we are going...
A customer of mine had his car sideswiped parked outside his house, the car kept going but they got the rego.He finds the owners address and goes around the next day,he sees the car parked in the drive with a smashed left side, and some real old turkey comes out - ''Did you know you hit my car yesterday?''....'Oh,I might have done'.....''Have you reported it ti the Police?''...'No'.
So he goes down to the cop shop to report the accident himself and finds he's got a trespass infringment and some other shit against him. When it all goes to court he finds that the plea is that the old boy had a small heart attack and so was not in control of the vehicle at that time - valid defence...case dismissed.
It's coming alright - and the scary thing is that this is what the public wants, all part of removing our selves from responsability...blame something else,it's not my fault.
In and out of jobs, running free
Waging war with society
It's started already. How many kids do you come across that haven't done anything wrong? "It wasn't my fault" and the NIMBY attitude (Not In My Back Yard). It's an MMP gorvernment operating in society - no-one wants to state an opinion in case they're wrong and no-one wants to correct them when they are wrong.Originally Posted by Motu

thats what i needed when i had a car pull out in front of me - there case was that i hit from behind so it was my fault...Originally Posted by Motu
my case - i crashed the bike 20m earlier due to the drivers actions and wasnt in control of it when it hit them.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.
It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
If you have an unexpected heart attack and crash, surely it's not your fault.
On the other hand, if you have heart problems, continue to drive, have an attack then kill two innocent people in the resulting crash, you should be banned for life. (This happened on the Shore 3 years ago)
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
isn't this what you pay your insurance for? If you hit a diesel patch or black ice and skid and crash, it's not your fault.. but you still have to pay out.
If you have disabilities of whatever, your insurance company must know about it, and therefore take you on as a liability and charge you for it. If you crash because of whatever, then you must pay up. As for driving for 3 miles with someone thru your windshield, and not stopping, that is just outrageous. Heart attack or poor eyesight or what. If you are not fit to drive, it's easy - DO NOT FUCKING DRIVE. How hard is that? No fucking BS excuses, there are none. No 'independance' crap etc etc. I know people have to get around somehow, but age ain't gonna stop, so fucking deal with it. The reaction times of some of the aging drivers I've seen can be measured with a calendar, and they still drive on the roads. I know I'll be there one day, and I will most likely hate to surrender my licence, but I'd rather that, then crash because I'm not quick enough any more
It's not just crashing though, is it? This old guy killed someone! If he was that that concerned (he knew he'd had a prang) he would have at least gone to the cop shop. If he doesn't have the cognitive abilities to to recognise there was a body half through the windscreen, then he's not only a danger to himself but others as well. The question is - If someone is riding/driving at well over the speed limit then do they react quicker than an old guy would at 70k? Would that make them safer?Originally Posted by bugjuice

shocking, like bugjuice said if you cant drive (with full capacity) then its a simple answer, "bus".. damn old people.
He was ninty-frikkin-three! Do you think he was aware he was even alive!?!!
I think I remember a similar case Lou was on about, except it was an epileptic who had a siezure.
He was dropping his two kids off at school....![]()
At the rise of the hand by Policeman, stop rapidly. Do not pass him by or otherwise disrespect him.
