I agree there is a lot of random rubbish posted here, by only a handful of members, so now I mostly ignore their posts. I don't even bother reading anything they have to say, as it's mostly crap. So I could argue to just ignore them, but I do agree about the hi-jacking of threads. The recent one about dyno runs was a classic example.

I agree with the pages of crap thing ,,,I often just scroll down pages of one line replies that will never win the booker ,,
The trouble with scrolling is that you miss a comment which is the same as the one you want to post .....
But that just it I click Scroll and reply IF there is something worth replying to...Also I have been guilty of wandering off topic Sometimes >..But in my defence it contained worthwile info on bikes ,,,about torque and the tightening of nuts and bolts ...Also I have been guilty of the one line remark ,,,but I can count them on one hand ..
The thing is its Electronic and while at the mo there is pages of ...what color spark plug should I buy ,,,,,in say a few min there could be a post about say the choking point of the inlet port ... or someone compete photo file of the Enfield range ( thats perverted ,,,but maybe there is another sick puppy out there !!!

I know what you're saying, and I've made a stab at trying to get back to "roots", by doing ride reports and product reviews as often as I remember to do so. I reemember that those sorts of reports were what impressed me about KB when I joined, and it is so easy to sink into your alter ego and just throw drivel at every thread that comes along.

I hope your post makes a couple of people at least think about some of the stuff that goes on, but by the same token I would hate to see the banter dry up. Then it would be like an American forum! All serious like.

The young fellas that I sometimes dish a bit of stick out to, might like to consider that initiation rites are quite important in any society, and if the crusties are spending effort on you it's becasue they want you to stick around. Both literally and figuratively.
