    Blah XP OS CD PLS?

Hell must have froze over, cos I never thought I'd be asking this. In fact, when I'm done writing this, I'm gonna go scrub my eyes and brain out with bleach.

I've managed to get myself a demo copy of Virtual PC on the mac, but it only installs the foundation for an OS. No one I know has their copy of a decent Windows OS to hand, so I was wondering if anyone has a copy of XP to hand, just so I can see how the VPC runs and acts.. Once the demo has given it up, then I'll just be binning the lot and hoping my Mac isn't infested with the worlds population of STDs..

    PMs or slagin, whatever

Sad strange little man, do you think you have the guts to venture out into the world of XP. That is mans territory, and no I don't have a disk sorry, I just wanted to make fun of you.

it's not 'mans territory', it's a fukin minefield. I'd much rather stick to Mac OS any day, but sometimes there's just things that narrow minded programmers just won't do. Plus, you know what curiosity killed, don't ya?

    Why dont you try linux?

Theres even mac ports for it.

and theres some really small fast distros that would probably run quite fast on a virtual pc.

hell, Damn Small Linux is only 50mg and runs from the cd. If you've got the memory you can use the ram disk feature and it will be really fast.

Don't worry, its not that scary. It will put hairs on your chest once you learn it.

the reason for XP is that when I get stuff like a PowerCommander, it runs only on Windoze, but I don't want to have to by a PC just to do the odd app.

I have tried Linux for a wee bit, but I'm not a huge programmer type, so didn't really get into it much. As for the underlying side of Mac OS, it's Unix anyway, so I can easily play with that if I want..

As for the hairs, I think the only change will probably be grey ones on top!
