I'm off to The Pretenders concert Thursday night and can't wait. Possibly not the kind of rock you're into James but Chrissie does rock very well, even at 52. My dream concert and was a toss between The P's and Bowie.

    Anyone else goin?

Do you park on The Terrace? Sure I saw a similar bike to yours today. I park there. Don't panic, I'm not a stalker!

Hi Deb. Was that you I saw on the mway by Aotea Quay offramp this morning just before 8.00?

I was on the blue and white Yamaha.

Cool looking bike! Good performance and handling too, by the way you were cutting through those cars...

If it was you though, weren't you cold? Riding with a skirt on in this weather?

brrrrrrrr..... you're more staunch than me...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Hi Lynda - park next to Lambton Square elevator entry. Good park as is big and I work right opposite. Cafe Rise is far to convenient though as spend too much money on coffee after I park the scoot. When I grow up I want to ride a "monster" like yours

Hi celticno6 - that looney with the skirt was me. Armoured waist up but tend to wear work pants or skirt or gym gear below. Stoopid move I know, especially when I'm doing motorway speeds. Getting proper pants for the winter. Yep, 'twas cold today! He does handle alright but I'm thinking that if you jumped on it you may think differently? It is only a scooter afterall.

Really liked your bike - great looking, especially with the helmet you have.

My tatty old 17 year old commuter? You flatter me!

Nah, its okay.. I love my bike. Gotta admit its the first time I've had scooter envy though...

Hope you're wrapped up warm tomorrow - its gonna blow and pour!

Spotted you on your ride tonight DebK -- I was a gridlocked cager in a silver Impreza trying to go up the Terrace while you were going the other way...

Apologies James... I've hijacked your thread.

Hi Hitcher - I would have been on the way back from Club Kelburn gym. Too windy to head home on the m-way so took the back way - Hutt Rd & then up the gorge. Bloody gusty once I hit some open air & felt like my helmet was going to be ripped off.

Celticno6 - damn the weather. Hate it when I can't ride in - will give it a go though. Need to get me some temporary rubber pants & overjacket that I can pack away down to nothing & put under the seat for emergencies. My armour is showerproof only.

    What do you guys use?

Dririder pants, Spool jacket. Cordura with full Kevlar armour and Scotchlite reflective material.

Handmade Last Footwear Company Riding Boots.

Generic Leather gloves with Thinsulate linings (dubbinned regularly to keep out the water).

Seems to keep nearly all the rain off me, but its quite hot. In this funny weather you can really only get away with wearing underwear underneath or you boil.

man, I'm envious of you wellington types all parking so close together. Its a nice look down near Featherston street with all the wheels.
But i have to say I prefer not normally having to fight my helmet breaking loose in high winds. As for riding in a skirt Deb, I'm glad to see you know its not a great idea! get decent gear and you'll enjoy the riding so much more (specially on crusty days)
