I can fly light fix wings, but haven't scraped enough for my PPL yet.. It was either the bike or the licence. Kinda obvious which way it went.. Once the bike is paid off, then it'll be back to the air..
Done paragliding (I just loved it)... and gliding sounds brilliant.
Microlights too maybe but the noise is a detraction in my book...

That would be Fox Moths....amazing aeroplanes....do you realise you can fit 12 crates of beer in the front cabin and not lose any through the most hamfisted aerobatics! Lovely rugged aeroplanes - pity theres not more in the air! Was involved with Myles Robertson building new fuselages for them in 1979-80 - wonder wjhat happened to them all.......?Originally Posted by marty

Can someone PM or post here all the ins and outs of getting a PPL and costs? It's something I've always wanted to do. The closest I've come though is winning the Red Bull Flugtag in Wellington.... And it's not on again next year (bastards - sorry 'nother story)
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

contact some of these clubs/aerodromes and see what their rates are:Originally Posted by Colapop

a lot of places may be able to sort out deals if you ask nicely.

Just had a thought - This flight/bike thing, it's not a Top Gun subliminal leftover is it? I mean, I have a mate called Goose. Should I be worried???

Beemer rides a Goose. You have nothing to worry about.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
I always used to fly better when I was riding. At one stage, when I sold the bike to provide money for more flying and got an Austin 7 car, my flying seemed to deteriorate................Originally Posted by Colapop

The ground stopped you from 'deteriorating' futher?Originally Posted by SPman

if I did not have a lemon for a motorcycle I could do some low level flying on it
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
There's one in Mandeville.. A mate of mine goes down and flys it and the Tigers quite often...Originally Posted by SPman

Doesn't anyone else out there fly a helicoptor?
Once actually heard a FWpilot say the only reason Helicoptors fly is because they are so ugly the earth repels them.
This is who we are![]()

but then the job salary from flying a chopper (and the 'cool' factor) must pay nicely

It'd be $4,800 before it's even close to getting off the ground - what else would it need?
How about a bunch of us chip ind get it? I'd be in![]()
