    03/11/05 - Thursday After-work Ride

I was looking forward to Qkchk's ride tomorrow but just discovered it is now cancelled. With the great weather lately I am itching for a burst up SH16 tomorrow so whoever would like to join me I'll be waiting at Shell Westgate from 5.45-6pm, leaving at 6pm sharp! Will probably ride up to the Kaipara Harbour lookout on 16 (10mins before Wellsford) and back, detouring at Kaukopakopa towards Albany, SH28 and home. Should take about 1.5 hours and still be light by the time you're heading home...

Ride at your own pace, few stops, fairly short and sweet...if no-one turns up I'm going alone anyway.

Ps. Remember to gas up before we leave.

Still trying to decide if I'm coming. I ride alone all week, so I like my 'extra' rides to be with a group, and I'm a bit too slow to stick with 95% of folks.

    Gosh...

Isn't it nice to live somewhere where the wind doesn't chase you around on your bike and you can consider a ride this arvo? Down here it's a tad gusty ... not much fun unless your bike weighs a ton and so do you. Have fun guys and gals.

Good riding with you guys who turned up, 5 in total.

6pm left Shell Westgate on to SH16/Old North Rd/Peak Rd/SH16/Silverdale Flat Rd/SH17/Country Rd (don't know name?) through to SH28/SH16 and home at 7.30pm...and there's still light out there to ride in!

A tad windy at times, felt for the 2 x tail-end charlies on their twofiddies getting blown around, but didn't get rained on despite the dark grey clouds above. Saw another coupla pairs of bikes out there 2nite too.

Let's do it again real soon!

Ps. Welcome to the NEW GUY who joined KB yesterday and came out riding today! I'm like you man - no good with names the first time round sorry.

    Doh!

Sorry i missed you guys, me and 1 of the boys didnt get to shell until 6.30 but headed up old north road down the flats road to the prison then looped back and did riverhead coatsville. Didn't see many bikes except a K2 and an R1 that we kept running into all over the place. Was a good overall ride though
