    Question Engine Management Systems (Racing)

Just joined to get some information for a Suzuki GSX1300R (2002) engine. The engine is currently used in a specially build sports car solely for track purposes. Looking at a number of options, initial investigations have revealed the following.

    A) Yoshimura Electronic Management System
    B) Power Commander

Looks like with both systems you purchase a base unit and then ‘accessorise” as necessary with the optional accessories, e.g. Accessory Hub, Clutch less Shifter, Shift Light, 3-Way Map Switch, Gear Dependent Map Offset etc….

I’d be interested in hearing about advantages / disadvantages of the above systems and any other systems that should be considered. Consideration towards long term development should be considered also (are these modules surplus to requirements after certain modifications ???), today just remapping of fuel / air is required, however possibilities of another crank, cams, supercharge (maybe down the track). being installed should be considered.

    Your advice is appreciated.

not heard anything about option A, but only hear good about option B.. savin myself for one actually. No idea why, just really need one..

If you want to adjust almost everything your bike can do at whatever point, then I'm sure both will do that, and I can't really think of any reason why it'd be a bad thing, unless there's something specific to your bike and mods that a PC won't like..
Get down to a local PC retailer and ask them to have a look at a unit etc, might answer some more questions on it, plus their website etc..

    welcome btw

mate if you are building a sports car then forget all the performance mods--
Contact JSH racing in the UK and talk about aftermarket slipper clutches.
If ya dont you'll be destroying motors faster than you will imagine.
Yosh gear--+ good quality =-well established - bloody expensive
