its the gear that does it, honest...
that poor little bike, and to think I chuck it through corners as well... kinda scary...
Thanks Zed, will look into making the link work (via registering or whatever)...

Hey InDeSkyz, Thanks for the great ride. Those are nice roads, and quite sheltered from the wind. Must get out onto Scenic Drive again soon - I enjoyed the road to and from Huia more today, probably just the slightly faster pace and more easily sighted corners. Got the timing right with the weather too, didn't you. Thanks too for showing us the way back to the motorway. :spudwave:
Zed, Thanks for the sharing your pics, They're great, especially the more arty ones around the Dam![]()
did not make it but i think i just bought a house????

Thanks for the photos Zed![]()

That is the most pics I've taken for some time, there have been rides when I didn't even feel the urge to take any shots even though I took my camera just in case...your ride though was inspiring! I'm going to frequent that road out to Huia & that dam now!Originally Posted by InDeSkyz

We do do that to a point anyway Pyro...there are usually always tail-end charlies and frequent stops to check that everyone is present.Originally Posted by pyrocam
Sounds to me like you've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time with KB rides of late, you'll come right. Just don't drink yourself to death ok!![]()

Really sorry you got left out, although I don't quite understand how it happened. Maybe you're just too slow?Originally Posted by pyrocam
Nah, don't mean it. I'll definitely be up for another crack at the Scenic Drive, and that excellent cafe near the dam. Bloody good muffins, and the owner got real excited at all the bikes and asked our permission to take a photo. Although I noticed on the way back there was a cop car outside, so maybe he was just noting down the regos so he could report all those naughty people riding without helmets (they know who they are).
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

LOL, that Huia must be a busy little town cos in the space of that hour or so we were there I saw an ambulance, a fire truck, and a police car all pull up outside that cafe! I was wondering if the powers that be had been lurking on KB and knew we were coming or summat??Originally Posted by parsley

A nice day and a good [local for me] ride.
That cafe food was good. If you lot wanna do another Westie local ride the road to Bethels is twisty and the stall at the beach makes nice coffee![]()
I will take something more suited to cornering next time![]()
My g/friend took a medium quality video of the last 15mins up untill we arrived at the cafe. but riding the whale ment she only got footage of the last 4 bikes as I could not zip past anyone in the twisty stuff.

I ride quite slow most of the time, so there will always be people in front.
There wasn't really anyone else by me who knew the route (JSG does, but why make him stop on his love affair road), and it was a slow ride anyway, so when we did stop, others weren't far behind.
Except, I can by no means quite figure out how when we stopped at the road where you were on the other corner.. how you managed to lose us within 50m. ??
But in a weird way, it probably turned out better for you in that you weren't far away for help when your bike broke out in.. what was it? Chicken pox?
All good man - maybe we coud do that ride more often since it is close and short and then we'll know it like the front of our hairy palms.![]()

at night. It's not the most friendly road at the best of times.
At night it's pitch black, switch off your lights and you wont be able to see the road surface 5 meters ahead. Even with high beam the visibility isn't great and it requires quite a bit of focus. Superb if you know the corners, russian roulette otherwise.
