    CB250RS parts - wanted

    hello all

got a rather screwed CB250 which is in a state of repair atm... not sure of the year or how to find out, but it seems to be an early/mid 80's model based on k's and appearance.
Some of the bits we need are probably best bought new, but if anyone has reasonable/good condition bits 2nd hand then that might be better (ie cheaper...) Either that or some suggestions as to who/where to go to for the following.

At the moment we are looking for:
left hand side cover - colour red, but not greatly important
right hand side cover if it is going real cheap - the one we have is missing a few mounting points which should be able to be repaired/refashioned
cam chain pressure pad - not the part that you adjust but the opposite side
    sprockets (front and rear)
    and a throttle cable

    thanks in advance,

    Milky

If you get really stuck for new parts there`s a bloke called David Silver in London who buys up literally crate-loads of old Honda stuff from all over the world, wari`s had some stuff from him before, sure he`ll pass on the details.Air-freight charges are the only bummer but the stuff is at discount prices usually anyhow so worth thinking about.

or just come around to Logans workshop as you already have! and score all the crap leftover that hasnt been thrown out already. as fast as i could pull that crap outta the shed 3 vans were circulating outside taking the front ends and rear ends and frames of bikes etc! shite.
anyways heres some info: they are a 1978 XL250S based motor, which are identical in every way untill 1983, there is a CB250RS A and a B and i think a C, the difference was the last year 1985 had electric start (only?) and the mid years had both. but all same dimension pistons etc etc. all interchangable, and quite a rang of paintjobs mostly in some form of blue or red.

might be worth it if you got it cheap enough

Yeah i saw that, and am waiting until the auction nears the closing point before i put in a bid. There is a transport problem, with it being in wanganui too, but if it is a good buy then driving - shock horror - all the way down could still be economic.
