    Awrighty then--Heres the thing.
    NO PROMISES
Rather than limit ourselves how about I talk to the AMCC race comittee
The plan is --We--KB supply and fill 40 bags as a one off
We then have 2 years use of the bales for any KB trackdays.

Sound like a plan frosty but lets not get tied in to puke we might need to move the bails to the new track

To supply 40 bale covers is like $1600??

Could we offer to fill 40 bales that AMCC buys with the understanding that we could borrow them (and theirs) a couple times a year for use at Puke?

Owning our own KB bales sounds like a waste of resources if we only need to use them a few times a year. Not only costs, but you also have ownership, management, storage and transport issues to consider as well. Better to help AMCC improve their stock which we can just borrow as we need.

Filling bales we could do - we have the numbers. Those more adventureous could do commando missions raiding recycle bins on collection morning. Us racers could use our vans to make fortnightly collections and deliver these to AMCC. We could even run a sticky thread with totals by individual members to give them the props they deserve. This sounds a lot more realistic than contributing $1600 which I have no doubt can be done but I feel this would be taking avantage of our more generous members which I wouldn't like to see since it benefits all.

I could be up for a trip up to Puke, time permitting of course. No guarantees on being able to assist with bailing (being in Wgtn and all) but I'd be up for helping in some other way, even if only financial.

Tony, I appreciate where you're coming from with a desire to provide the safest environment possible. But at the end of that day, we're (mostly) all adults. We take it to the track, we accept the risk. I'm not in favour of dumbing it down if that can be avoided. Fully in favour of additional bails in place - no problem with that at all, but I don't want to see the track itself played with just to protect those who don't protect themselves.

In saying that, when some dumb f*** (possibly me) offs it big time at a "Kiwibiker" track day, we're all gonna get tarred with that brush aren't we?!!
