The posted pic looks to be a lot lower too. The lower centre of gravity would help with the thinner wheel wouldn't it? Or you could just push the wheel size up a couple of notches.

Have no problems with the wheel size other than asthetics. A wider wheel would foul the chain guard etc I think. The link you sent is of a bike that is more a chopper than sports-tourer...including the 'wraith/hellcat' conf bikes too I think.

Given the height of the Comet it's almost a supermoto. I'd like it more, if it was lower, but hey, that's personal preference.

    Me? Noooo.

I'm a seagull manager I am. Flies in, makes a lot of noise, shits on everyone, and leaves before the real work starts, only to return and pick over the rotting carcass of a dead project.

Really? I didnt think it was all that high (780mm from memory)...Im glad its a fullsized bike though (being a 250) as the usual 'big-bike' wont be large by comparison. Anyway...digressing.

I looked seriously at getting a Comet because they are taller than your average 250 (She came along and said "NO." really firmly)
I think if you lengthened the seat out (not by much) that would solve your rear mudguard problem. The seat would almost 'float' more if you could drop the motor an inch or two to get some space right under the seat and cantilever the seat from a long way forward. The seat bar would need to fairly stiff. On the other hand if you did that it would negate the need to have a swing arm suspension. It could be a hard tail with an almost single bar (or side by side) frame with no top bar.

Hmmmm. Can't say I like it but each to their own. Interesting way you've 'attached' the rear pegs...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    like it

Where'd you mount the brake and back indicators?
    behind the seat?

What about up off the back (or near the back) of the mudguard,
obviously past the end of the seat, so it doesnt get mashed.

so when do you start chopping things up?
