Good to hear you're on the mend. As to gears, I'll be in 5th (top on the VTR) for most of the way myself. Problem is, I can't stop myself from yanking the clutch and trying to go up 1 more cog while I'm riding, as if it will just magically appear

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Sweet I'll be up for this, have not been out for a blast for ages. I had almost forgotten there are roads out there that don't lead me to work!

I have been in New Zealand for 11 months now and still not managed to get around the Coromandel........

Good things come to those who wait though eh?

Erm, that would be a slow ride...

You done the coro loop before?? I'd imagine you'd be going up and down 4 gears from corner to corner - on quite a few corners. 110-120 on the straights will probably be the slowest speeds... but there will always be someone waiting at turnoffs.

Will do my best to get my bike in shape and turn up.

Well seems there's a few of us up for it so it's all good to go at your own pace.

I've had a bit more practice on the NINJA (yes yes... a ninja) and should be a bit faster this time than last.

I was even getting overtaken by the guys taking the photos

actually, Coromandel has NOTHING to do with auckland, and never will have. you can visit, but leave it as you found it, you big city, power hungry, waikato river water drinking louts....

if you kill at least 1 possum on your trip though, you get a day's free membership to the Greens.
