I also won't be in the right frame of mind for such a long and early ride today. Enjoy.

Damn the weather! Started raining the minute we left th Autobahn. I stuck with it for a while but wasn't enjoying myself much 'cause of the greasy roads (found my back tire was breaking loose on the polished tarmac) so I decided to head home when we re-joined the SH just north of Ngatea. Hope the rest of you got to ride out of the rain and have some nice dry roads to cane around on.

Firstly, Sorry guys for fekin off without so much of a who's ya father.. my bad, i thought you were following and when i realised you werent i decided to head home for a roasting from the mrs and to make sure the kids remembered who i was.

on a better note, by the time we got to the twisties it was mint and i think everyone had dried off.

750k into the first thou..so my first service aint far away and i managed to get rid of the front line on the tyre.... believe me Yoshi & Juzza..that counts as gone!!!

    Highlights;
    • First time on those lovely twisties for me and the bike and we were one..and at one point we we're nearly gone too
    • Seeing Can2 riding the bird... someone so small throwing her ass ( in a non sexual way.. ) over the side and throwing the bike through the corners
    • Yoshi going past me like i'm stood still at lean angle i can only dream of
    • I still have pipe envy Juzzer
    • The near collision i had with the busa as i pulled out without looking.. my bad
    • And lastly, i smiled for 10 mins non stop as the Busa dropped down a cog or two and waved to the 2 cars he passed, with his front wheel ...Classic

Cheers guys, thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks for the company

Ps. thanks Krayy for organising the day and i hope your buddy enjoyed himself

Was all good mate.. Heaps of room.. One of those situations where I thought you were waiting for me.. Must invest in two cans and a piece of string in the future
It's been a rough day. I got up this morning, put on a shirt and a button fell off.
As I ran out the door, I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off.
Now I'm afraid to go to the bathroom.

Thanks to all who came along!!!

Well what can I say.....for me the riders make the ride, and all you lot made it a damn good one. Thanks to all for perservering after the slightly damp start to the proceedings. It turned into a real cracker, as i'm sure you'd all agree

Special thanks to Yoshi for leading out and letting the 1k boys have their head without having to hang around for us slightly slower riders. Damned if i didn't almost shit myself every time those VTR thous ripped past with a HUGE roar

Thanks also to Gremlin for leading us through the Pohutukawa coast on the way back into Auckland. You didn't seem fazed by the responsibility, so thanks for that. You can organise a ride soon eh?

Phi really enjoyed the day, and for his first (and only it seems) NZ ride, I don't think he could have got a better group and route (okay, we're now officially ignoring the first 90 minutes of rain ).

Couple of photos attached. See if you can spot the obvious cock-ups in both (damn panorama joining program).

    And the award goes to....

Here's some awards for the day....can I have the envelope please.....

The award for wettest rider goes to....
Weasel!! For gods sake get some cordura man, or at least a jacket that meets your trousers so people following you don't get freaked out looking at this:

    Most surprising handling bike....
Yamaha V-Max. Bloody hell that thing can go round corners. Changed my mind about all cruisers being lumps that can only go on straight roads.

    Biggest whoops....
That would be me, I'm afraid. So many I can't remember them all (but thats what you get when you go hard), so here ar ethe highlights:
    1. Scraping my toe at 130 through a long sweeper and having it almost yanked off the peg.
    2. Lost concentration coming through the gorge to Kopu on a sweeper and ended up in the wrong lane for a while.
    3. Accelerating in the wet while crossing a white line whilst passing Chickenfunkstar and having the rear break away.

Bike I'd most like to own....
Sorry Yoshi, but it would have to be Juzzer's VTR1000 or Kornholio's yellow Gixxer.

    Rider of the day....
I reckon everyone deserves the props for hanging on even though the weather looked like it was going to be shit all the way round, but after lunch when the sun came out....well, you know the rest

I'm so surprised to get this award... but I'd like to thank my mother for charging too much rent thereby reducing my chances of getting some proper gear, I'd also like to thank the kind people at Burger King for taking care with my daily nutrisional (sp) needs.

But that's not all... got up this morning to find my ass is sunburnt!!
