    My new RG150

I have read many other posts about the rg150 and it seems i have gottten a good bike. It has done about 20,000ks I am looking at getting it serviced but have been quoted between $80 - $180 froom diff places plus extra if i want the power valves looked at. Can anyone tell me what i should be paying and what should be done in a general service. THANKS HEAPS to all the help me out. Also I was told the power valves wouldn't need looking at because they weren't as problamatic as the older power valves, is this true?

I am not a pro mechanic so this is just from an old man that loves bikes. Oil and filter are number 1. Change regularly. Keep a log for this stuff. Every 5 thousand Km. Check chain and oil every week. Keep the bike clean and you will see any problems.
If you love da bike you will get a manual and read as much as you can on the net about your model. It is my opinion that if the power valve is not giving you problem leave it alone.
In short oil filter and us your eyes and keep the chain and sprockets right.
If you have no mechanical instinct then send it in for a service. Bike are like girlfriends....they need a lot of TLC to keep them on song. But most of that TLC is simple stuff.
    Just my 2cnts worth.

It's a 2 stroke so the oil and filter won't need changing... It doesn't have em! The gearbox oil should be checked and possibly changed if it's scummy though.

But keep the chain lubed and check the tension every 1000km or so. Also make sure the coolant levels aren't low and keep it topped up with 2 stroke oil and you shouldn't go too wrong.
