I've had a couple of catholic schoolgirls as girlfriends in my time (I was around the same age before you accuse me of being a paediatrician), and they were both 'fun'.

Anyhoo - 26 in one night - bullshit or plain sick.

Kiwis being highly promiscuous - bugger. Why didn't I move here years ago?

Differentiating between sex and 'making love' - I'm with you there mate. A shag is just that. A (mostly) nice physical feeling, but involves little or no emotion. That's how I can understand why swingers do what they do, swapping partners etc. If you can truly differentiate between sex and making love with the one you love, then where's the harm? You don't get worried by any perceived threat posed, because you know she loves you and that there is no emotion involved with the other person (male or female). And then you can make love with your lover afterwards sharing the erotic experience.

Am I going off at a tangent here? And no - I'm not a swinger. But I'll try anything once...

I think MR poses some very valid points here..

The actual act is diffently degraded significantly, it holds no value in the eyes of a lot of people and i dont think people realise the damage it actaully does..

    In saying that..

How many people are actually celebate inbetween relationships????? Or is it the norm to have multiple partners.. Even the term "friends with benifits" or "fuck buddies" is pretty common now...

MR makes reference to it being a young person thing.. like a teenage thing.. which i agree with, however as adults, what sort of image do we put across simply because we believe we are adults therefore we can do what we what??
Is there no responsbility placed on us to be good role models in and out of relationships?? or is the high youth pregnancy/STI rate simply a result of a degradation of our socient due to high divorce rates/and general collapse of the moral soceity..

*argh, i cant believe i just called myself an adult... **

Nah the just meant kissing, a girl who went through more than 1 a night would be called a whore/slut/slag/etc for the rest of her life. I was at school only 2 years ago so I should know...

If you mean yours and yours alone... doesn't that kinda rule out partners?

And if you don't mean yours and yours alone - doesn't spreading something kinda make a mockery of what you said?

So how is this different from you?
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

Of course you can, it's a free country and grown-up people can make their own choices. It's different if we're talking about kids who lack the maturity and judgement to make good choices. I think that's where Motoracer 's original post was aimed, at least that's how I took it.

    Yesterdays abhorrence's today's acceptances.

The only thing difference from today and yesterday (Year Dot) is the degree of the behaviour.
Nothing is new, just new to some people.
The sexual behaviour of girls today resembles the behaviour of homosexual men over the ages.
Again the prevalence is in a direct ratio to the degree of social acceptance. We have the pill and women's rights to thank for the degree of change now more publicly "accepted" among women of today. It follows today's homosexual acceptance as normal.
I can remember and have partaken in my youth of all that has been described on this thread excluding homosexual behaviour of which I only have experience as an observer. (I spent 4yrs at sea on 7 different ships as a Marine Engineer)
Prior to recent social changes in acceptance, all of these things were carried out off shore at sea etc now they are becoming part and parcel of our children's lives as "normal". Get used to it you have the government of your choice and the one this country deserves.
When I was a child the Brian Tamakis of the time ruled our lives. We escaped that only for the political pendulum to swing too far the other way as this thread suggests. Because of today's excesses the Tamakis of tomorrow will drag the pendulum back and we all just loose some more freedom. That's the way it goes get used to it or take more notice of the politics around you and do something about it. It is certainly not news to me, just bloody disappointing. John.

We weren't so sexualy ''active'' as young teenagers are these days.Although I went to a co ed school, the academic classes were mixed - but they kept us technical boys and the commercial girls as far apart as possible, opposite sides of the school and assembly hall,it was obviously certain trouble to let us,who had been together in primary school, mix.

Later in life I hung out with a crowd that normal types might of considered somewhat um,shady - my friends were obviously habitual criminals and drug dealers, you could tell that from just one look at them....'bet they're into free sex too y'know'...but far from it,and the girls who were around could take care of themselves, they weren't ''available'' for free use by any means. We were quite orthodox rebels....kinda sad looking back....

But I once worked for a large company, and couldn't quite believe the social ''activity'' amoungst the staff. One guy whose wife worked in the factory got crabs off his missus - and half the workshop had crabs,we all knew who it was.It was bloody crazy and I wanted nothing to do with them.
