Is it the sort of movie where I get to run MDU and BJ over with a bulldozer? Cause if so, then I'm in!

Def take a guy along if you do meet him, your boyfriend if you have one, or get a mate (preferably big and tough looking!) to pretend if you are single. If he thinks you are unavailable then it'll help put the brakes on any funny ideas he may have running round inside his head. But firstly, if you are intending to go ahead with it, when he calls make sure you find out what the business is (get the name so you can ask around about it) and what the hours are that the job would entail, as well as a job description.

Just be professional about the job offer and he will be able to see thats all you are interested in.

Just be careful, he already has your cell number. Don't give him anymore information until you know what he wants.

    Paul.
He kept asking where I live and where I work, its why I only gave him a celly number because I'm on prepay not contract so I thought he'd have to have some decent contacts if he really wanted to behave like a nutter.

Sounds really dodgy... from what you describe.

The massage parlour comment was a test - was the concept of one etc acceptable to you ... then he pushed it a bit further and got your details and verified you are "of legal age"...

Good move on giving out a celly number rather than land line. Feel free to have him stop calling you at any time. If you feel uncomfrtoable tell him so. But before you do that, get some of HIS contact details. Home number, work number, email address - whatever. If it heads downhill either now or int the future you need to be able to find him and hand him over to the authorities.

Now is the time to do that.

Have someone you trust be your "boyfriend", and have them ring him about the job. Have them prepared to ask some pretty specific questions and see if the job is really there. Pay rate, hours of work, how many people work there, name of company, what they do, annual turnover etc.

I'll help if you want... PM me - let me know.

Also - if you ring him, use 0172 (I think it is) in front of his number - it blocks your caller ID stuff so he can't capture that info. On the flip side - you CAN capture his info on your phone (if you haven't already).

Keep a diary of when he calls too, and if you ask him to stop, note that also. Anything beyond that becomes harrassment and the cops and Telecom take that very seriously.

    Good luck

    A couple of queries,
How many potential employers have approached you without any indication that you were looking for work?
How many guys (in general, of any age) have asked you if you work in a massage parlour?
Without meaning to be offensive, do you think he got the idea that you may have been a massage parlour worker from any indication you might have given him? It's a fairly out there question to ask someone you don't know well.

How about a different slant on things,
Could it be possible he's been into a massage parlour (they're legal now) and thought he'd seen you and was offering you a job to 'save' you? ie. get you out of that despicable industry so to speak.

Bottom line is that if anything at all makes you uncomfortable about this guy then you can afford to be patient - that's what the social welfare benefit system is for. And before anyone gets up in arms about dole bludgers etc. I would far rather see a young woman given choices than feel she has to do something (a job) that makes her uncomfortable. The job market is fairly bouyant at the moment so I'm sure that option would be short term.

I'd rank that one as a "trial close" in sales parlance... sometimes you have to go for gold to see what the next objection is - or see if there are any at all.

    If not, then you're in.

I'll bet he's tried that on a number of people and it's worked just once or twice - enough to make it worth his while.

Could be wrong of course- I might be slighting a pervectly normal guy - who rings about a job offer at 10pm... ?!?!?
