I havnt seen it yet but will have by next weekend. I remember Bert at a flying quarter mile near Mosgiel in the early 1970s. He had his Velocette there but had one on his regular DNF. Must have had a valve bounce as the push rods were all bent. I got talking to him and told him I was a apprentice mechanic so he dives into the boot of the old black Vauxhall and emerges with a hand made alloy conrod. It was a work of art, light as a feather, one peice with white metal bearing in the big end. I read the book about him written by George Begg and these conrods were a failure so he went back to forgeing then out of truck axles. His bike trailer looked like it had been dragged out of a rubbish dump, old spoke wheels and rough as guts. The man had balls alright, the tyres in those days were nothing like we got now. Im certainly looking forward to seeing the movie. Cheers Toddy

Saw it today with my family, they were mightily impressed.Outstanding when all the movies we see (not!) are full of violence and sex, just a movie about a bloke and his bike.I would of been the same age as the young boy in the movie, there was a hell of a lot of detail that would take me 10 viewings to cover, all lost on younger generations and overseas viewers. It's hard to hear the accent, because it's how we talk everyday, but very little was out of place,so it has to be pretty good.Great that Sir Anthony Hopkins, with all the parts available to him, would play a modest old bloke from down here....yeah,it made me proud.

Yes indeed. A very good question.

I was too upset about something else and someone else and "going to the movie" faded to black....

Glad that the ticket wasn't wasted - and my apologies for not letting you know that I wouldn't be coming Pyrocam....

    Cheers
Everything is always okay in the end.

    thanks Goddesses/mvs/blks et al.

O for owesome was that movie . We are now not the last KBers to have seen it.

'Cept I have a silly confession:
You know how you come outta a Jackie Chan movie and wanna flying kick everyone in sight? [Only read on if you can relate. If not, know me before you judge me] Think about some eedjit jumping on his Ninja (still not quite as fast as Burt's though ) straight after watching World's Fastest...you get the idea.

Anyone else suffer the same effect?

I thought YOU wouldn't understand Ujjie, for these reasons:
    1. your custom user title (love it BTW)
    2. the roadworthiness of your various amalgamation of boiks. I'd feel safer on the rickety 1920 Scout. Does the ZXR250A/B/C.3 reach legal limits?
    3. you don't have a Ninja - the Ultimate Power!

The in-laws are kid-sitting on Sunday, and shouting me & Mrs R tickets as a pre-Christmas pressie. They loved it & said we had to go! We'll be going to the evening session at Manukau, if they're still showing it!
