    Thumbs up Chat/irc

SpankMe has put a new chat client on the server. Try it out on the Chat link on the menu.

It's heaps different to the old one, but that's definitely a good thing.

For all the hassles that the old system was, I found it rather good. I could sign in at work when it was quiet and have "personal" chat with a certian KBer, she knows who she is. I will no longer be able to have those chats. However the new chat set up appears to be more reliable, although I am told that quite a few people are having trouble installing and running the new system.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

ummm, yeah you can. irc has always let people chat privately. Just double click on the persons name in the name list and you'll have a private message window/tab.

I've asked SpankMe to make a small change which should let everyone connect to the irc server. I can't use the java client at the moment either, but I always use a full featured irc client anyway.

I am using irc, and it's working well. Took a moment or two to figure out some of the functions though......but is all good now. I think it is better than Java chat.

The irc thing will cancell itself 20 days after you get it though and in order to keep it you have to pay for it. Too broke for that here, and some wont want to do that.

And for some damn reason everytime I try to get the Java Plugin it sais I allready have it but the chat wont recognize it.

I'll have a faq up soon that covers the major stuff in irc. Any questions please post them here and I'll include them.

I don't know what it is that will cancel its self in 20 days Waylander, but it isn't the irc client as that is 100% freeware.

PM me if you're still having problems and I'll phone you after hours.

I use mIRC to do the chats. seems to work well.

    Cool

My mIRC came up with 30 days FREE use.... then I would have to register.
Since using it, it is now down to about 28 days...

But I am now able to use Java chat... Thanks SpankMe for what ever you did.

Ah ok crashe. I highly recommend NOT using mIRC. You can't actually stop it revealing certain things, so any ladies that don't want to get hassled by dipshit semihard internet warriors should just use the java client.

enigma51, do you have Java installed?? If not, go to http://java.sun.com/ and grab the latest version (on the right side). Faq coming very soon to explain a few more things about getting the java client working.
