I watched an old Peter Jackson movie and its amazing how much our accents have changed.
I bet we have gotten a bit more american from the telly.

When I lived in OZ I was asked if I was a Pom a couple of times when I visted Victoria,(their a bit backward down there). But then I actualy prefer that to being mistaken for an American.Originally Posted by Pathos

I've had plenty of people mistake me for a Pom, even while still in NZ. Americans seem to do it most often.Originally Posted by Jackrat

Finally saw the movie tonight (an hour ago) and gave it a 7/10. Good acting, appreciated the NZ sentiment, lol even Shadbolt acted well! Didn't like the US transvestite (that's just me) but did enjoy the dipiction of American culture mixed in with what felt like a good old Kiwi movie!![]()
Btw, Hopkins' Aotearoa accent was average IMO. It's a hard one to act out because truth be known Kiwi's don't have an accent, mate!
I agree... Great book and much more informative than the movie..Originally Posted by ManDownUnder
