Had mine sugically removed under general anesthetic - took all of 10 minutes. Was a little uncomfortable for a few days after that, however nothing that I could not handle.

I was like a few other KB'ers and lived with the pain for so long, however once it was done, I was a lot happier... my suggestion if you have the money try and get it done as soon as possible. Dont open yourself up tp the possibilty of future complications.

I had all 4 out last year under general anasthetic at Bown Hospital. I was out cold, woke up and they were all gone. Just stayed as medicated as I could for the week after that and I didn't have too much trouble. it took a few months for the holes in my gums they left to heal up properly though. I think it was $2200ish under health insurance and half of that was for the general anasthetic.

I'm glad I did get around to getting them done then though.. they were hurting on and off for a few years before that, but started hurting constantly and cutting my gums up which wasn't really the most fun thing.

This is the guy. He was really good. I'd recommend getting anything done through him again.

Yeah, that's who I got reffered to. It makes me feel heaps better knowing that someone else has been to him and had a good experience.
(And I just had a chat to the wife and she's "OK..." with the new bike idea!!!) I wonder how many teef removals it would take for her to let me quit work?.......

Got all four of mine out years ago as they were giving me problems. It was expensive but I am glad I did it.

I had a general so it was painless. Bit of blood in the mouth the next morning but washed that out and all was well.

If you wanted to save money you could always ask about getting it done without a general e.g. using Hypnovel (aka "midazolam") to stun you first instead. I have had lesser dental jobs done under that and it's pretty good.

Only your dental surgeon can tell you if that is a realistic option in your individual case - it could be the worst idea anyone ever had - but he or she will know.

When I got my first one out, my dentist doped me up and said "This won't hurt a bit" tugged, and it hurt and I punched him.

I felt really bad about that and went under general to get the other three out so I wouldn't hurt anybody.

IF IT IS SORE GET THEM OUT!!! I had the same thing as you a few years ago and I was in A&E at 2am to get codine. Never in my life had I felt pain like a badly infected wisdom. I paid $1500 and go all 4 out at once which is best. No problems at all and didn't feel a thing. Best advice is to get general, and do it all at once. 3 days and you will be away laughing.

Don't worry about cost as it is your heatlh and if they get worse you will be trying to take them out yourself!! My girlfriend used Brendan Young at Bowen and he was great. Good luck

Had one out, was one of the "forward" ones, and only cost me a few hundie to get it yanked.

Was definitly worth it, even if I fainted like a schoolygirl in the dentists chair 5 seconds after they got the bugger out.

I am sitting here with the exact same problem , My left wisdom tooth is impacted ie lying on its side . The pain Usually goes away after a couple of days and has been for years.
But this year it been here for two weeks today .......
Now our dental system here is all insurance so it will cost me bugga all 100 bucks or something like that ,

Its just that I am a self confessed coward, white feather , white flag , the whole nine yards

Good luck with yours ,,,I FULLY understand your pain ,,,,,

Pain and cowardice are gonna have to take a backseat for this one. I can't sleep at night coz of this so I'm willing to risk the "Murder House" (do kids still call it that?) to get this sh*t sorted. The drugs (fingers crossed) will be an added bonus!
