Simple really. The Golden Eagle is my favourite animal.

I got mine coz I was wearing a CCCP (Russian) shirt with Hammer and sickle on. A student asked me if it was for political reasons or because I looked like Lenin! I said "WTF I don't look like Lenin but it was either the green Russian one or the blue Italian one!"
Anyway I morphed a video of me into Lenin using http://www.debugmode.com/winmorph/ which is freeware. My avitar is some screenshots of that morph video turned into an animated gif.
Check out the software if you into graphics, its real fun and not particularly difficult to create morphing videos.
So it turns out I do look like Lenin!
