Um, I didn't know that. And I stand by what I said, no where did I see any personal attacks on yourself. The reason I say this is that you offered no opinion yourself on the issue, rather just posting some information.

Not a mate of Scumdogs, is he.......
Never met the guy but good on him, at least he knows how to unwind a bit.

If 'they' carry on like this they'll probably make me shave my mo, cover my tats and tell my not to wear ear-rings or skull rings - and not to associate with dodgy people like Dangerous et al!

They'll have to boot him out if he keeps having thoughts like that... just imagine if someone like him got into traffic? F***, they'd be having intelligent thoughts and not following like sheep everywhere, and what the hell will that do to the revenue stream?

Many of the laws in society are there to stop people taking advantage of each other or hurting each other. They're there to keep things fair and apply to everyone in society. Cops are expected to apply the law in an unbiased manner, treating everyone the same.

If this guy has such strong attitudes that in his private life he is encouraging "eradication of the weak and inferior" he doesn't seem like a suitable person to be a cop.
With such a strong attitude that he has to sing about it, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to leave it behind when he is on the job. If his attitudes affect him as a cop, he may be more likely to treat anyone he decides is "weak" or "inferior" a whole lot more harshly than those he sees as "strong".

I was disappointed to see the media roasting him on late night TV last night.
Cops who get youth culture are defintely needed!
Although that said is thrash metal still a part of youth culture?

I happened to catch all the ink and that was way cool! Yum!!!!

Metal aint dead in the youth market yet, but its definitly lost a hell of a lot of ground to cRAP in the last decade. Most "pop" metal is nu-metal like Korn, LimpBizkit, SOAD, Mudvayne etc which almost all of the metal purists look down on.

Shit who wants to become a cop if they remove your personal life. Its hard enough to recruit new cops as the politics stands as it is.
It's what law enforcement is about, you no longer are an ordinary Joe.
This guy is hardly a poster boy for the Police force. But judging from some recent court reports, maybe he is.
And it is a 24/7 job. Cops can't ignore serious crime just because they're off duty.
If you're not prepared for this, don't apply.

On Radio Live this morning Devlin was talking to a Cop who did Elvis impersonations as a second job - he got the boot. But I think that was justified on the grounds of bad taste.Statanic headbashing rock is more socialy acceptable than dressing up as Elvis and singing Love Me Tender....

I saw the young man in question being interviewed last night. He struck me as a very well thought out individual. I think if I was to be pulled over or needed the help of the Blue Boys then he'd be one I'd like to be there - regardless of the band he performs in. Hey the music is not in my taste but I don't give a flying f*ck. He not only does his job well enough but still has free thought and self expression. I reckon that if he can do that then it'd enhance his ability as a police officer.
He's got one hell of a lot of ink though aye? (not a bad thing)

I look at that list and would say that the only nu-metal group there is Limp Bizkit. But they could also be classed as rap-core, along the lines of Rage Against The Machine etc etc

Mudvayne, Korn and S.O.A.D are not nu-metal either. Yes, they are classed differently from Slipknot, Hatebreed, Meshugga(sp?) etc but they are not nu-metal.

Nu-metal as people know it are bands like Linkin Park and Blindspott etc etc

Yep, ya can be a cop as long as: you don't have to too many tats, you don't like/play heavy metal, ya don't have too much facial hair, ya don't ride noisy Harleys, ya don't get drunk at rallies, ya don't get to involved with tokers, ya don't speed, ya don'y do wheelies, ya don't abuse plomkers, ya don't associate with dodgy buggers (sorry Dangerous), ya don't expect too many weekends off etc etc - but apart from that have fun eh?

Oh yeah, the 'good' pay makes up for all the above (Tui moment) yeah right!!!

I heard about this guy a few weeks ago (heard him and his group on the axe attack). Good on him, and as long it doesn't it does interfere with his police work long may he continue.

Yes agree. And to make it worse not only are we under more scrutiny but we can effectively get convicted twice. Once in the public court system and then again internally. Even if there is no conviction in a public court you will still often face penalty in the internal enquiries.

I am not talking about stepping over the line but it certainly takes alot less evidence to prosecute us than it does a member of public.

I say leave him alone, he is doing it during his own time and he was not the one that bought attention to his day time job.

But remember a few years ago there was an Elvis impersonator that was made to leave.
