TRTNR - Wgtn, Thursday night 24/11/05

6 - 6.30pm, carpark bottom of Maungaraki Hill, SH2 Petone.

Weather forecast: "Showers clearing afternoon, fresh southerlies"
Destination: Shortish jaunt (hour or so) to be decided at the meet up and back to Breakers pool hall (above Grumpy Mole) for beer and refreshments.
    Speed: If you like.

Remember: Set video for TV3(?) for that motorcycle thing at 7.30, else we'll all ride really really fast and ask the lovely people at Breakers to put it on the big screen for us

Skelstar - Riding is more important than TV.
    Str8 Jacket - Harden up.

    Listen closely.

SH2 is the main highway that runs through the Hutt Valley, over the Hill and through the Wairarapa.

SH2 runs along by some water, called Wellington Harbour. When the water runs out you are at Petone. You will go past a 10 pin bowling alley, go through a double set of traffic lights at Korokoro (it's a complicated Intersection) and the next set of lights is Maungaraki. Turn off here and there is a carpark directly in front of you. There will be bikes.

Hutt Valley - Petone - Korokoro lights- Maungaraki.

    Easy.

Right then. Get on the Hutt Motorway (it really isn't a motorway, it's SH2, but that would just be confusing to explain) and head toward Wellington.

Look out for the Intersection that is two sets of lights and we refer to as "Melling lights". Stay in the right hand lane. You will see a train station that is the end of a branch line, at this particualar intersection. Go straight through, keep heading for Wellington. You will pass under an overbridge that has no on or off ramps. This is the Normandale Bridge. It has one of those blue signs on it. Keep on going under it toward Wellington.

The next turn off is Maungaraki. It is on your right. The carpark will be directly in front of you once you have made the right turn. There will be bikes.

It is all well sign posted. You'll be fine.

    *abridged version*

Get on motorway, head South to Wellington, turn off at Maungaraki.

    It's all sign posted.

I'm keen to watch the mcycle programme on at 7.30pm, so will check with Sonny at Breakers to see if he can put it on the big screen.

A short jaunt sounds good. Hope the weather is ok, I have some work stress to deal to.
