All this talk of dodgy car dealers, etc...
I would value the opinion of Arthur Daly at this point

Here is my question. WHy the hell are you buying a cage? Buy another bke mate, then you only have to worry about dodgy bke salesmen(and women)

Not sure if it was posted earlier and couldn't be botherd reading the whole thread.

Some of us need a car to carry out day to day activities. Wish I didn't wish I could just ride the bike. But you know, we don't always get it our way.

I put a thread up earlier this year about the help frosty gave my mum (ultimately me, in that I kept my sanity) in buying her car. In short he went sofar as to sell another dealers car and then deleted his commision so that my mum was able to afford it.
Toni gave both of us the impression that he actually liked the challenge of finding the right car for the right price. Quickly identified my mums back problem and tried an off the wall suggestion. My mum stopped stressing (WHO decides to buy a car in one afternoon on a friday in auckland ??) and I could relax.
I actually enjoyed driving the lexus back up north.
So I know one dealer I can trust

If i sell a car with conditions attached and its time critical I make it 100% clear I cannot promise a delivery time/date. We resolve the issue there and then in the office. My customers pay a deposit and if I can't be certain I can meet their time expectations they are offered a drive car to stop them being inconvenienced.
You mentioned a "little dent' -So dingbusters would have been used and it sounds like it was messed up -The car then needs to go to a panelbeater and be fixed properly -1-3 days by the time its repaired, primed and painted.
The -If i service it will you buy it? line is NOT a lie its a QUESTION.
Again though -define a "full service" --is that ,plugs, oil, oil filter? or is it end to end of the car.--a full service takes at least half a day.
THE STICKER ON THE WINDOW SAID IT HAD JUST BEEN SERVICED , THE SALESMAN SAID IT HAD BEEN SERVICED YET THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER WERENT CHANGED

WELL GENERALLY TRADING UP IMPLIES YOU WANT SOMETHING BETTER THAN WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY , IF THE CAR WAS OK AND THEY WERE SATISFIED YOUD HAVE HALF THE SALES YOU HAVE NOW
