Bless the scammers. I live in hope of getting a more original scam, but no - just the same old methods.
You could always bait them as this chap has done.

    Subject: Dear Friend.

    Dear Friend.

As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.
My name is Ibrahim Gawish, a merchant in Dubai, in the U.A.E.I have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer .It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world.
I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it. Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few close friends.
I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul so, I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore.
I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them.
The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of twenty seven million dollars $27,000,000,that I have with a finance/Security Company abroad. I will want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations.
I have set aside 10% for you for your time and patience.please send a reply through this email address (ibragawish@netscape.net) with your full contact information for more private and confidential communication.

    God be with you.

    Ibrahim Gawish

    Dear Ibrahim;
My heart goes out to you in your time of need. I completely understand your plight, but at this time am unable to assist you.
20 years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting your country for a brief time. I was with the United States Marine Corps, and was there on “business".

I found it to be a totally filthy country, filled with dirty, greedy, hateful people much like yourself.

Esophageal cancer huh?... God that must hurt (at least I hope it does... A slow painful death for a Raghead is something I wish for all of your ilk)

God probably wont let you into heaven to be with the 75 virgins anyway, because he really does not care for sniveling, cowardly little bastards who only come to him when they are looking down the barrel of a gun, and besides, the pork chops you have been munching on in secret have damned you to the fires of hell.

The Cancer might even be God’s revenge for the pork…

I wouldn’t worry too much about your money as I have informed a friend of mine at the CIA of your letter and he has assured me that he will make sure all of your assets are frozen by the end of the week on suspicion of terrorist connections, those “charities” in Pakistan and Algeria wont miss a few million dollars will they?..

Fear not though... We will be using the confiscated funds to support our War on Terror© by setting up a fund for the families of those civilians killed in Iraq and the WTC. Maybe we can build another prison in Iraq and hire some REALLY nasty pieces of work as guards, as opposed to those lightweights we had there in the past. (why send the second stringers in when the Varsity team is so eager?...)

I think I would do it for free actually, just for the opportunity to sodomize a few sand-niggers when I am not busy with the Government Issue Billy club and the heel of my combat boot.

As far as your ungrateful family goes, we have a smart bomb marked for your house sometime within the next few days. They will never steal from you again.

Hey... There's a thought... Maybe the cancer won't get you after all! Just stay put in bed and think happy thoughts!

Take a few bucks and buy yourself a bullet, save yourself the pain of the cancer, and the indignity of the smart bomb.

    Burn in hell,

I used to live there and thoroughly enjoyed it. I met some great people, salt of the earth as they say.

Do we label all kiwi's "livestock botherers" because of the actions of a senseless and disturbed few??

    Oh, hang on....

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

You'd think with all the publicity that people would be so onto these sorts of scams but their greed overtakes them! My husband works for NZ Post and every week these people come in to send off money orders for 'processing fees' and 'administration costs' etc, for overseas scams. He says they can tell them until they are blue in the face that they are scams but they always say they know someone who sent off $185 and got thousands in return so he doesn't bother now. He says in all his time there, only one old lady has changed her mind about sending off the money and come back later to thank him.

I was lucky - I got a letter like this a few years ago, wanting help in tracking down beneficiaries of my uncle's will, but I was also a beneficiary and it was all legal and cosher!

I rarely got these emails until about three months ago and now I get at least one or two a week. And offers of cheap viagra - like I need it!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

That's an old one that is...

I even think that one of the accounts people at our work got sucked into it.

    Good one!

No wonder our company is on the verge of financial collapse.
