Well time for a late entry by me I spose, but my 2c is just as good as anyone elses.

There are several aspects to consider here;

1. Not all members of this site are adults (18+ or even 21+ if you prefer)
2. If you had this same problem in real life wouldn't you just ignore them? Then use that handy ignore feature.
3. Some people are just inherantly antagonistic, it's the way they are, and unless you want to do some physcoanalysis before giving people a username then they'll always be there.

So... urm.... yeh.

Well Like in life , I am ( hopefully ) kind and respectfull to others. Just scanned over my posts and most of them are bike related ,,a handfull aint !

The only times I have had issues with the replys to my letter were once when a tragic thing happened and I saw red ,,,,( and they still wont acknowledge the main question ,,,!!!..) ....ZED sent a very kind PM to me for which I was thankfull, ( and I just thought I didnt give green Bling ! sorry ZED its on its way ! I can be thoughtless sometimes )

The other was due to there not being any facial expressions visable and I was Precoffee . One was From a multiple poster for which I am at a loss to explain ....One who shouted , but the more I read his posts the more I like the fella ...
So that all in all aint bad ....

I do pity those on dial up. as My pda and laptop have a wireless card ( its like a mobile phone connection though its unlimited bandwidth ) but its 64k ,,as in a touch slow ....and there is no Scrol button,
So I have to plow through pages of one line replies to find a post worth reading ,,,,even If its ripping into someone about some thing ,,,as long as a small about of thought has gone into it , Ill read it. ( I scroll over three pages of mines bigger , no it isnt yes it is .....etc )

In that scrolling I have honestly missed these personal attacks on people ..Saw one this week, had to look up the dictionary to find what the word meant ,,,,and that aint bad ,,,for 2000 odd people all with op onions

So finally there is a lot of wisdom out there, some great threads , all self censorable, ( hey I have a scroll button !!!)

So at the end of the the day I is big enough and Dumb enough not to worry about what people say ...( have better to do, also have user notes which lets you know my expecations ..That hit the press about a week after I joined !!!! , but no worries )_

Unlike you, you little fuck, I've had a lot to do with music publishing, and the only way artists who sign with major labels make money is by having an extensive back catalogue played on high rotation over decades, not years. That generates royalties at a fraction of a cent per airplay. Bands, and solo artists are paid an up front retainer that has to pay for everything - recording, touring, artwork, roadies, airlines, hotels, and living expenses. The only thing that the major companies care about are distribution and publishing rights. If the band or artist is clever enough, they setup their own publishing company, setup andndie label and then sell distribution rights to their own Indie label. Very few bands or people do that because they usually enter the global music market via the large companies because they don't have the funds to setup a global distribution network.

No major record label "commisions" work from an artist. They don't need to. They have a queue of "artists" ready to slot into this month's mold. You don't make money comissioning projects from decent musicians, you make it from mass market bubble gum.

I've sat back as im a newbie here and probably fit in teh category appertaining to this thread, but the 'holy'er than thou' attitude smells of distain and double standards to me.

Theres many a way to discourage and remove things from your life you dont like, as said before. Ignore buttons, scroll buttons, don't open thread button and the all encompessing don't respond adding fuel to fires or encourging button.
