    SV650 air filter

I have a almost brand new K@N air filter for a Carbied SV
It's no use to me so is sitting gathering dust.
The bigger than nfactory inlet hole lets the carbies breath better than stock.
    Open to offers.

    Frosty,

Quick question, just out of curiosity.

Those old-style carbied sv650's, I've heard that putting an aftermarket performance filter on after you've opened up the inlet (snorkelectomy), actually decreases the performance. Is this true?

Scratchin me head here matey.Ya need to actually see the filters to see the difference. The stock filter is pretty restricted down the inlet tract itself whereas the aftermarket filters are a lot more free breathing.
Id suggest that if you just tossed in an aftermarket filter there would be no measurable difference in performance --But if you put in an aftermarket filter and rejetted to suit the better airflow you would notice a decent performace boost.
Thats where dyno's are so darned good--ya can BS all ya want-the dyno (usually) doesn't lie. -allowing for tyre slippage etc.
