They don't even work for WCC, they're employed by ADT Security (I think).
Hangin's too good for 'em. They should be flogged.

Ever so slightly O/T, but an ex-colleague is now working for Guiness in Ireland and has the obligatory branded-up station wagon....he parked up in the centre of Dublin, cages all around him got clamped, but they left his alone! Now them's perks....bet it wouldn't work with a Lion Red one here.

Yes, the local council out-sources the ticketing gig so parking wardens just ticket regardless of whether there is a clear breach of parking rules.
I have been dealt a few tickets: Parking in residential zone (I had my resident's sticker!), parking on footpath (there were no yellow lines but the road was sooo narrow that I would have been blocking traffic otherwise), and several tickets for parking over the posted time limit (Did he/she stand there for the full 20 minutes??? Bollocks).

Still, now I have learnt the error of my ways, am extremely paranoid and will never take a car into downtown Welly ever again unless it is to go cruising for parking wardens to run down, back over a few times and mount their bloody carcasses on my bonnet as a trophy and a warning to other parking wardens.
But hey... they're just doing their job
    Keep it rubber-side down...

See my reply to Marty. If that's too difficult I will reiterate my reply to you. One is a safety issue one is not. There is a hell of a difference. But then no doubt you are as pure as the driven snow and are oblivious to any perks that come your way. And this texmo, is the point have you not ever had a perk from any or one of your jobs??

So you too have never had a perk of the job. That's my point Lou. Those who live in glass house should not throw stones.

You seem to be unable to tell the difference between staff discounts and perks.

One is legal, the other is not. There is an acceptable difference, in the workplace but not in law. The general defination of a perk is an item, service, etc that an employee has access to but not the general public. In the case of these parking wardens what they did was wrong in law. They discriminated in favour of their collegues against the general public. Or to put it another way, they kept an eye out for their workmates and looked the other way. I am pleased to see that this sort of thing still goes on and gives me some satisfaction that the working class in this country still keep an eye out for their mates. After all looking after their workmates is all that they have done. Nothing else.............nothing.

Now my logic might be a tad too difficult for you to fathom Tex so I'll redefine what a perk is. It's a bit like haviang a wank, we've all done it but no one admits it.

When your balls have dropped Tex 'you' will have a real life.

PS the original post on this was not about parking on yellow lines.
You raise a different issue again.

For this I will refer to post 33 of the classic KB quotes http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...9&postcount=33 where JSG stated that I have a very manly voice - in otherwords my voice has droped.
I gather what you mean about perks and I think your being unfair, 61k's in a 50 my cousin did this and got a ticket along GNR - this is definitly safe no two ways about it, but he still got a ticket for breaking the law should a ploice officer be let off? no they should KNOW BETTER just like the parking wardens whos job it is to give tickets should KNOW BETTER and set an example....

Good see that you can be a little original here at last. I'd keep what few brains you have Winj. You might need them for further posts.

The penny hasn't and that's a fact. If you don't know what I mean ask Winj. But then if he has sent you his brains he won't have clue either.

Just noticed the redeye Tex. Just not cricket ol' son. Never given a bad rep to anyone all the time I've been here. Just means I'm getting to you. It's all a learning curve lad. Go with the flow and take nothing personal.
