Y'know, I get quite bedazzled when you try and talk non-trash!

I got my point across Jimmy, doesn't reallly matter if you disagree. ...and I'm sorry to hear that you've met one twit every Ak ride, bar one, that you've attended? Of course, that would never happen in Wellington right!?

    Weasel,
Have talked it out in PMs with Boomer. Didn't really reach an agreement but came to a sorta mutual respect. Tried the same with Goblin, but got nowhere.
As I told Bommer, maybe I'll understand the sportbike point of view when I get myself one next year. Till then, yea I'll try to be less judgemental.

I'll have to sit down with a beer and read the last few pages of this thread. Haven't seen anything this entertaining since the flame wars in the old days when I first started computer gaming. Here was me thinking those in the various online worlds were too jaded and weary to sling shit with passion anymore.
    ------
Just for the record, I was definitely surprised at the speed of the ride, but more importantly where the speed was. I always slow right down in 50/70/80k areas, but on this ride everyone kept riding away from me in those parts. Also, I always try to be patient and only pass in sensible places but some of the passing I saw was dodgy at best.

38 years on this planet has taught me a thing or 2 about staying alive and I don't let any bastard push me on the road for any reason so I ride at my own pace and fuck anyone that thinks I'm slow.

On all other rides I've been on there's always someone who is tail end charlie who rounds up the stragglers. Next time, I'll volunteer for the job if no one else wants it.

Blackyoshi, thanks for organising the ride. Although I reckon it would've been much better to have stayed and completed the loop. When the person people percieve as the leader of the ride leaves, there's a sense of nobodies in control now so they can do what they want. Not much you can do about those that think 120kph is slow, but you could definitely have provided some leadership for those that didn't want to ride fast. Many not so experienced riders do feel pressured to go quicker, and that was what I was seeing on the way up to Coromandel.

Firstly, there is absolutely no way you can tell a persons riding style from some photographs... only those who bear witness can comment. Whilst Boomer and Enigmas riding styles seem a little fast and agressive to me, that's how they ride... if I don't like that then I'm free to let them go past (not that I have much of a choice )

boomer is fantastic rider, leaves lots of room to pass, he has great lines, is a non-aggressive rider and rides well within his capabilities. The accidents that happened could have been avoided, except for one. Mine my back wheel locked up on me due to a mechanical fault with my bike, I was very lucky I was cruising at the time. As the witness to the crash told to local Cop.

All the crashes that happened, were good crashes. No one was badly hurt only Egos and Pride were damaged, Bikes are consumables, body's aren't. All the people learnt from their crashes and i'm glad they happened on a Kiwi Biker ride with lots of nice people around to pick them off their feet and help them out.

I am texmo know me before you judge me, this biker animosity has to stop. I love riding by myself, I hate riding with others. But I do love to top at each pit stop and talk shit with others who can share my feelings of passion for riding, So every time I take off early are let the fast guys pass me simple as that.

Fantastic riders can and do stay on the correct side of the road and/or keep it to the track, IMO those pics do not show fantastic rideing..... a one off maybe? but thats not the point here.
Have pride in ya riding..... I do (well try, most of the time)

FFS! I was cruising through there. Its all about reading the road, picking a line and sticking to that line! I was not even trying to go fast. Read my earlier post about the stretch between Thames & Coro!!! You dont even know that road up there so stop judging my riding(by a couple of photos) and stiring SHIT! Mr Perfect dangerous who has never ever crossed a centerline!!

who said I look up to him? He hasn't even been riding as long as me. To complement someone doesnt mean I idolise some body
I have pride in my riding.

I am not having a dig any any way, The road is there to be used, I can also see you point of view and I agree Partially. I did something stupid, so yoshi came up had a quite word that was that, every now and then he gives me a reminder. None of this flaming online. If you think somebody is in the wrong have a quite word and leave it at that. There in no point getting up and arms about it.

Yeah, I've tried to have "a quiet word" with some bloke once, got publicly called a fuckin homo and "grow some balls".

So now I have quiet words with no one, no such thing as an olive branch 'round here wich suits me just fine.

I think maybe it is time to lay this string to rest and just put it all down to experience.
Hopefully we have all learnt something about ourselves and others around us.
Personally i enjoyed the ride and the company, I enjoyed taking the pics & never thought they would provoke such an outburst.
On my 1st ride, pics were posted and it added a nice touch & they looked good.
I think everybody likes to see themselves on the machine in a corner! or with a nice bit of scenery in the background.
So i thought I will have a go at that & see if I can get some good shots for people to enjoy.
    Simple!:slap:
Merry christmas everybody and safe riding.

how about just sayin that, when you ride, no one is going to save you but yourself. so ride to your pace. some one else wants to play He-Man, then let them go. They'll find out the hard way. Wether it be your ride, or someone elses. Nothing you can do. I know everyone has good intentions, but we haven't even started the good summer runs yet, and it's already turned to shit. SCS won't go away, so let them go scare themselves and then they'll settle. End of the day, only one person rides the bike, only one person makes the decisions. I don't want to go on Nazi rides, I want to ride at my pace with my friends. That's what all this is about. If people are going to be dicks or ride bad, then avoid them, and/or don't invite them along.. I've already made the choice to avoid organising rides and joining large rides, just cos the aftermath like this, is just too fuckin much. Where's all the fun gone?

and yes, I know I wasn't there. I've ridden with a lot of guys on this ride at some point or another, and I'd ride with you all again. But this is meant to be fun guys.. who's having fun now?
