Yeah mate, saturday was a good ride.

Soundz like you had lots of 'Teflons' causing havoc on your ride

But anyway, see you on the next ride.

The undeniable fact from all of this some what(at times) heated discussion is we have all(,maybe the majority) got to slow down a bit and maybe think about the consequences of our actions should it all turn to shit!
As a few people found out on Sunday.......and it happens fast!
"Wake up and smell the flowers people"
"Those who criticize our generation forget who raised it.

When government accepts responsibility for people, then people no longer take responsibility for themselves. ~George Pataki

    This thread answers your question.

Sounds like you guys misjudged or just took your concentration away from the road for a split second...we all do it eventually, some people more often than others. Somtimes depending on your reactions/skill level you can ride through it, but other times it is so out of control that it ends in a bin.

I'm glad you guys have come out and explained your bins, taking responsibility, and clearing other KBers from any direct blame. Thank you. <--voted by me No.1 best smilie!

any ride leader who half cares about people they ride with will feel some responsibility if anyone bins.... unless u want them not to care.

you'll know if you hav organised a ride and cared. my 2c.

Still following the tread here and I noticed we had a broad cross section of riders and machinery from full blown sports bikes with experienced and competent riders to brand spanking new riders on beginners bikes. I personally didn't find the ride that fast and enjoyed my day with a top bunch of people and am looking forward to riding with you lot again. I think that BlackYoshi did what he could and I overheard him giving one young lad a sharp tongue and some good advice just prior to leaving Kopu and I wasn't that surprised when I saw him departing in an ambulance a few hours later. I am glad he is OK, hope to see him again on a ride sometime. A couple of simple rules (among others) spring to mind when riding in a group that I am sure we already know but its good to review. (1) The guy (or gal) in front of you owns the road (2) Ride your own ride.
Kiwi Biker rides are a good concept and I can already see the finger pointers from way off are making rumblings that include rule breaking ETC. This is not a club that has rules and comittees often made up of a bunch of self promoting wankers. So Lets keep it as it is a social event and some good riding and take the attitude that it is better to "Educate" rather than "Legislate". I saw enough calibre among the riders attending on sunday to suceed it in that way.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Well well well wasnt yesterday interesting....

Personally I had a fucken good day, the roads were nice and warm, the pace was out there(Im getting pretty sick of VTRs drowning out my sexy 4 cyl tho lol...I even heard the black VTR[Fish] slowing into a corner across a little valley :/ ). The new front tire did an excellent job and the beer flowed like wine

Nice pics Tony and was quite surprised when you said you got 6 of us but you were correct.... and god help us when Goblin gets her Christmas present :slap:

As for that corner cutting, although I dont condone it the visibility was good for 200 meteres at least so there was no danger(meh) on that particular spot

Well I hope a few 'Superman' complexes have worn off and equipment gets sorted for the next ride... Dont let this day bring these great rides to a screeching halt... As long as you dont go out of your limits you'll be fine

Thats enough for now....need another beer
Take it easy and get well soon Texmo

No we havn't forgotten D. I dare say that if you Southlanders organised as many sizeable group rides as us Orklanders, your statistics would be about the same when it comes to bins. And none of us want to go to a funeral i'm sure!

I look forward to meeting you up here some day soon, we'll make sure it's a goodun!

20 riders on a KB ride 2 weeks ago, over to the west coast.... NO bins (BrenChCh however did end up with a permanent pinch mark in his seat)

How many were on the Coro ride?

BTW We are not Southlanders... we are Mainlanders... thank you Southlanders belong south of Scumdog (includes him, they talk funny)

The only reason that happened is cos I didn't know you were there

Otherwise I'm the first person to wave people infront - as you know.

Some facts YOU'RE NOT aware of
    • Enigma51 and I went together.. we work and ride outside of KB and have an understanding of what we do and our likes/don't likes
    • We rode by ourselves at OUR pace intentionally, so we had clear runs
    • Anyone catching we let go, waved on. Anyone we caught we waited to be let through
    • That stretch of road was clear front and back and i was following (as seen) and Enigma knew i wouldn't pass

All i'm seeing/hearing is someone, finger wagging, preaching and concluding based on 'some' photo's and 'some' hear say. I also get the impression you have a dislike for anyone north of 'your' patch.

My perception, based on your comments, is you're a small minded finger pointer with a chip on his shoulder. Exscuse me if i'm wrong

Fuk nose why i'm trying to explain anything to you Dangerous, WE had a good run as did the majority and Yoshi did a good job.
