How do I adjust the preload on an 02 XT 600? I need it so that it rides a bit higher as I quite often have a passenger. Our total weight is about 150kg. Any advice or help will be appreciated.

The shock has a spring preload adjuster nut at the bottom hidden behind the rubber cover. Loosen the locknut wind the preload nut up and retighten lock nut. measure from the top of the shock eye to the bottom of the lock nut as this will give you your preload position. E.G minium (soft) = 1mm, standard setting = 5.5mm, Maxium (hard) = 12mm. Hope this helps - Andy.
