How does admitting I was a squid doing squidly things make me a hypocrite mate? It took three weeks in hospital, a perminantly fucked right wrist and two smashed feet to understand that I wasn't actually learning anything, just hurting myself more and more.

I took an extremely long, analitical look at my riding style, techniques and skills and figured I could go a hell of alot faster, and much more safely once I figured out how to do it right. Ask anyone who's ridden with me in the past 5 years, I'm bloody fast (if I may say so myself) yet never have "moments" or incidents (a few indecents maybe) and always welcome back once invited. It's a nice feeling.

I've had one crash that was my fault since I've been riding and I can safely safe that I won't be finding that edge again!

IMHO (and I know this isn't nessecarliy a shared view), unless you ride with your eyes closed, every accident is avoidable. I've hit cars doing u-turns/pulling out without looking, but had I thought early enough, "This fucker might not stop", I wouldn't of hit 'em.

years ago it was the expected norm to have at least 1 good crash in the first 2yrs of riding & to expect to have decent crash in the first 10yrs of motorcycling, and if that didn't happen you were doing something wrong!

its part & parcel of motorcycling & you learn from your mistakes & if you don't more fool you! learn to undertand & know the machine your on & minimise the chance of it teaching you a lesson about controlling your ego

it doesn't matter what sort of bike it is whether its sports, cruiser, chook chaser or what. as long as your doing it & its what you enjoy.

Finding limits is all abouts learning to feel from the feedback a machine is giving you, what's happening. Theoretically, if you know exactly what the bike's telling you, you'll know when it's on the edge and wont overstep it.

Repeated crashing is what squids and throttle jockeys with too bigger dyno charts and too smaller brains do. I know, I've been one.
