If you rang 111 for a burglary then you probably got the response you deserved - unless the burglar was still at the scene, it's not exactly what 111 is for. And it probably wasn't a cop who took your call, it would be an emergency operator. If you've ever worked in a call centre, you'd understand why they tried to get you to calm down. There is no way you can do anything until the person calms down enough to speak clearly and you can work out what the problem is.
And he was right - HE didn't burgle your house so it's no point getting on his case. I used to love the customers who called when I worked for a power company - like it was MY fault their power had been cut off because they didn't pay their bill on time?
Don't you read the newspapers? They are always going on about WHAT 111 is for - EMERGENCIES - not burglaries after the bad guys have left, not cats up trees, not things that can be dealt with by calling the local station.
