I think Tonys bike was prepared in Austrailia for last years Nats/Street race series. He was happy with the power and it didn't have any problems keeping up with anything else in a straight line.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Tony has retired anyway. Does anyone know if someone else will be riding his bike this year?

but if its 125 racing then that will be good for us 125 riders to be able to race against a Aussie pro

Kiwi's are slow flightless birds, and auzies are fast bouncy marsupials, so I cant see that it will be all that close:slap:

plus our racing sucks, the ones that are any good are old fukers...

Nah I disagree hard out with that English rider Midge Smart is bloody good and Jay Lawrence was giving him a real good run for the title. Aussies are aloud in there series to grind the cams port the heads change the valves valve springs and caps etc etc in New Zealand we run production rules which lose us horse power from the start. I reckon Craig Sherriffs (sp) Jared Love, Hayden Fitzgerald etc etc will give em a run just be good to watch it is good for our riders to experience different riders and is good for the Ozzys to experience new tracks riders etc etc

Shaun's rider Guy Martin is going to no doubt be bloody fast tho and be good around Wangas and Paeroa but if theses Australian riders want to experience a challenge bring em along to Buckets F5 Dave and Jay can teach them what close racing is

    Motorsport: Superbike victory for Clee

    12.12.05 9.40am

West Aucklander Ray Clee won his third NZ Superbike TT title by the tread on the front tyre of his Suzuki GSXR1000 at Pukekohe yesterday.

Clee took the lead from Australian Scott Charlton with a lap to go and won by just 0.013s from the Victorian with another Aucklander, Andrew Stroud, third in an all-Suzuki podium. Three-time Aussie champion Shawn Giles was fourth.

Amazingly Clee, who spends much of his time preparing machines for other people, had only ridden his winning mount for the first time on Saturday.

Stroud won both the sprint races with an engine prepared by Clee as the lap record was broken several times in the closest racing for years. He outbraked Clee and Charlton at the final hairpin of the NZTT but couldn't hold his line.

Seventeen-year-old Sam Smith stole some of the limelight from the established stars when he won the 600c TT.

In his first season at this level, the local boy from Glenbrook was third in the two sprint races with some aggressive riding on his Yamaha.

In the 15-lap feature race he took the lead from Suzuki's Craig Shirriffs with five laps to go and held on to win from Shirriffs and Australian Chris Seaton with defending champion Andrew Stroud fourth.

One of the most popular winners in what doubled as the first round of the national road-racing championships was Terry Fitzgerald, who won all three Formula Three races after spending the past 12 months battling cancer.

Among other triple winners were Dave Cole in the 250ccGP, Andrew Evans in the 125ccGP and Steven McCaffery in the Post Classics.

    Points after Four rounds:
    Stroud 217, Giles 207, Charlton 173.

Poor Andrew losing all those points. Lets hope he has a blinder this weekend.
