That ruf ctr (yellowbird is it?) is what you would term a heavily modified after market type sportsy car. Like turbo'ing a busa and giving it ohlins and all the go fast bits, something along those lines.

But shit yeah, nice and friggen quick car. Would give most road legal cars in NZ a run for their money with the power figures a RUF is capable of extracting out of a Porsche.

edit: darn, 1001 posts >_<... time to get off this site for a while I think.

    Ha Ha ,
Maybe I was one of the first "Boy Racers". Back in 1986 I brought a 81 Mazda 2.0 626 Coupe , was an grey import (before imports were allowed in by the boat load)and cost me years salary. Lowered the car on Aussie springs , put Munroe GT gas shocks in , the mags were a BBS pattern copy with 225/60/13 bridgestones with white lettering and the arches were flaired. My brother did some engine work on it.The exhaust was changed to 2 inch system for a bit more power. It had an aftermarket sunroof (Aunger)fitted and put in a hella lighting grill kit . Also had small racing steering wheel.
The sounds was the very lastest Alpine tape head unit with a digital tuner (wow) . The head unit (2 x 6 watts) ran some 4 X 6's in the front. The rears were 8 inch two ways , Had an Alpine 40 watt amp running these sitting under the passengers seat. Don't recall rust being a problem on that one, but the car was forever blowing head gaskets.

One 911 that most of us would have trouble smoking is the RUF 911.

Now that would be fun! Especially chasing him on that track!

Dude, Go down to your local bike store and take a K5/K6 out for a test ride and then come back to this post and tell me honestly, whether you'd want to have a go!!! I'm serious too, take the testride!

Having hired a K3 1000 for 5 days I can understand the accelleration, I guess the K5/6 are better handling than the K3 ? anyway my skill level wouldn't be up to chasing something like that.... Would be fun trying though ...

    A few points:

Not all Jap cars are shit.
Not all of us that are also into sports cars as well as bikes are shit drivers, i have done my bit of time at the track, and would be happy to meet there...
Why is it that bikers have to be all hard arse..."I am a die hard biker, cages suck ass"? Shit mate, everyone has their bit of fun, I love my turbo 200sx, it hauls as, stops well, corners exceptionally, sounds nice and looks pretty good.

I do agree tho, that these boy racers driving 'pimped' Honda accords with 5000kg chrome spiiners and cannon exhaust are a pin in the ass. They cannot drive, their cars are slow, they race on the roads, wouldn't have a hope in HELL of controlling a car in full lock drift or oversteer, and generally are on into cars to 'pull the bitches'.

My point is that just because someone likes a performance car, that dont make us like the rest.
To be honest, i regularly think of selling my car at the moment, i do not want anything to do with that scene anymore.
Also don;t forget, these businessmen in their V8's are just as bad as some of the boy racers. WHen i take to 200sx out, its the older men in the V8's who try to race.

No no no, use the correct boy-racer terminology. It is "DROP a rotor in it"

    Tui moment here: yeah right!!

In my youth I heard that expression heaps:
"Yeah, goin' ta drop a 390 Ford in my Mini, of course I could need a bigger muffler to suit.....and the 175 X 10's won't be able to handle the extra power..

aint the main reason you put a bigger motor in is to lose traction more easily when you bury youre boot?

Yeah, BUT you have to pretend it is for another reason eh??

Out tonight in the Mistral, forgot how 'grunty' it is - until I came off the road bridge and planted boot- and the 'f'nn little shit went sideways on me.!!

No need for bigger motor, - or bigger boot!!!

I learnt my lesson after a 1979 Toyota Starlet and 2 and a half years of putting a SR20DET (2 litre turbo) into it. Fuck me was that dangerous.

Hmm, Mistral only goes to 7,000rpm - BUT will pull from 1,500rpm in 5th.

Can wheel-spin in first 4 gears in the wet, but who the hell would want to do THAT???

    Never learnt MY lesson though!!!

I love smoking boy racers!!! They always have a go without doubt..... and they always get made to look foolish!
I love it when they have a mate in the car, makes them look like such a joke!
I especially love WRX's, Evo's, Skylines and occasional Holdens & Fords!

But I love absolutely nothing more than - Porsches!!!

Without these guys, I would have alot less entertainment!
Whilst I cannot say I dont mind them, they do provide the humour value you mentioned, I had many a good time on the FZR thou when the turboed legacy, full of knobcheeses pulled up beside me at the lights.

The comments were all the same...............
"You guys and your fking bikes"
" Sounds big, but I bet it goes like shit"
"come on ya cnt, I'll blow you off the fking road"
    " haha ha ha ahahahaa"

    end of story.
