The atavar is really me. Friends have for 24 years been trying to see the real me, that is clean shaven. Though I have nothing to hide just dont like the shaving rash....
What you see is what you get with me. I give an honest opinion and make no bones about my faith or views. Likewise I can accept others for who they are. If one wants to dialogue I try my best to address the issues not the person. Everyone is created special in God's eyes. How many others have come to realise that not everything is black and white?
As quoted by Motu "so who are we really?...." Only time will show who we really are, what sort of person we are that lies behind this computer screen.
Anyway have a great day and look out for me at the Cambridge Toy Run... Black XV, White open face helmet, and of course my black beard that is not so black these days.

I just wonder what the "real person" is though. The face we present to people in real life meetings is another persona as well, as is the one we present to people close to us, or how we act when we're all alone.
    A great post Motu

I am online who I am in real life, well I hope so! Those of you who have met me correct me if I'm wrong please! I think for shy people maybe the net is a good place for them to get a chance to say how they feel, instead of being shouted down by the more articulate or quick thinking. I like the net b/c I'm quite a social person & like the chance to speak to people from other parts of N.Z and sometimes overseas.

Of course in saying that I agree with Erik too - we are all slightly different in different situations, the way I'd speak with my 80+ Grandmother would be quite different to the way I'd speak with my Uni mates or sister and Motu you may be surprised that others may in fact meet you & recognise you for who you actually are...did that make sense?

Everyone I have met off KB's has been who I thought they'd be or maybe I've met them with an open mind, I've learnt building up preconceived notions of people is stoopid.

Makes ya think aye! My brain hurts!

    And long narrow fingers
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I find the internet useful as I can be more retiring and introspective than I usually would be in actuality.

Love the thread Motu. Great responses also. Jim2, as usual you are very entertaining

I'm new to 2 wheels, though did have a wee Honda 100S (edited from Suzuki, doh!)) trail bike at High School (farrrrm girrrrl). Came in here to observe & learn. Been suckered into defensive mode a few times but that's how I am sometimes away from my laptop - reactive. Even yelled at a tin top today... idiot was riding his clutch at the lights at the top of The Terrace and started rolling back on me. Then stopped with no signal in the middle of the road after turning right at the lights. So today I had no patience. Was so p*ssed off that I worked too hard at the gym and almost puked.

I think the majority of us in here are almost as we are in the "real" World.
Someday we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

Hey, I just purchased a tinted visor! I no longer have to wear my sunnys and deal with the hassles invloved with taking them on and off & cleaning them, etc. The black visor is awesome actually, especially when I hit sunstrike on my way to and from work!

What 'real' biker buys a mirror/black visor to make a fashion statement anyway??? They ARE practical!

I very much enjoy my online personas!

Zed is me & I am Zed, even though I created Zed specially for KiwiBiker!
"Roses are red and violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I !"

Personal rules I stick to when conversing on the net:
    • Be myself!
    • Be honest but not too honest.
    • Enjoy debate but stay away from argument (whenever possible?)
    • Never talk to strangers! (try to include some humor)
Zed enables me to express & discuss my fascination for motorcycles with others who have the knowledge of the 2-wheeled thrill...but within Zed is a person who is fascinated by something much higher than mere man-made machines!

I have a mental picture of a gloved finger endeavouring to dive up a nostril with slim hope of success -- I don't recall your nostrils being unduly cavernous, your nose excessively pliable or the Spidi "booger picker" being fitted to your gloves...

You'll have to demonstrate this magnificent dexterity at some stage...

Yeh, gotta admit the crazy side is somewhat closet behaviour - only comes out when behind a computer screen, when the shit hits the fan at work and when I stride my sickle... sometimes.
