Outlawtorn, take an effing chill pill. I never said I didn't like Metallic(A) (I still don't understand why you capitalise the last letter only, I mean the whole name is in upper case not just the M and A), in fact I'm probably one of the biggest fans of their earlier shit, I just don't agree with the direction they have taken. Hence why in my original post I said 'their decision'.

And yes I think they've sold out. Lars (in particular) treats Metallica as a business, he no doubt saw greater returns financially in moving from a small dedicated fanbase to a larger audience. They moved away from their original style, cleaned everything up (fucken Nothing Else Matters -except for the dollars) and cashed in big time. Great business decision, no doubt.

Getting playlisted. Who gives a fuck why the songs are on the radio. But I'm sure you'll never hear 'Whiplash' played on 91.3. The songs they mostly produce now are clean enough for mainstream radio.

Sorry Outlawtorn, but Metallica will never be the same again. That doesn't bother me in the slightest, we all change. But I will not buy any of their last few albums soley because it's Metallica, but only if I like the music.

Just think of how boring the music industry would be if all groups/artists kept to their original style of music and never changed/experimented/matured?
And so what if he treats the band like a business, is he in this for the love of music alone? Can he not look after his financial interests? Would you like it if someone took away part of your earnings because they deemed you wealthy enough already? Come on dude.......

I don't think it would be as there are constantly new bands coming out with new styles. All Metallica did was change from one style to another. They didn't invent a new style.

I do however appreciate what you are saying. This doesn't change my stance though.

Good call - thats how i felt when i was 15 as well.
Used to lsten to Poison, Metallica and Iron Maiden with some G and R on the side.....
Now all that has changed and i cant stand those bands, why bother buying their albums....bloody radio plays them with ACDC all the bloody time.
As for the good TooL songs....dont listen to anything that plays on the radio again, all the rest of the songs of the albums are the good ones. Have to admit that they are getting softer with each album unfortunately.
Still have a soft spot for Sevendust though, seems great to chuck on the mp3 and go for a ride with, makes you appreciate corners more or something.
    On a final note:
    Kid Rock??? ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
