Easy. Weld (after disconnecting the battery) strip of steel across the bearing and use a dent puller.

Alternativly if you know someone REALLY GOOD with a mig get them to run a big bead of weld around the inside of the race and the shrinking effect on cooling will loosen the race up in the case. then a couple of taps on the back of the case should see it pop out.

good call - this is the one i'd use, and gently ease that puppy out - after waiting for it to completely cool. (the colder the better). If it's warm it'll bind and make a mess.

If you don't have a suitable puller, drill and tap a hole and whack a bolt through it.

You might want to put a bit of steel or something against the wall being pushed against too to spread the load as much as possible.

I just talked to our engineering guys at work and they recommend
Welding a bit of steal onto the shell to use to pull with then running a bead of
Weld around the inside of the shell and using the heat difference between the Steel and Aluminium to pop it out ??

Heat the case gently with a hot air paint stripper if ya have one. Then put a wet rag on the shell t ocool it down (without getting water on the case). Then pull gently. POP out it comes.

Only one additional comment I'd make... make sure you pull the shell straight out (square). Get it a little sideways and things will get bound up and hard to remove.

a good soak with CRC isn't going to hurt either (AFTER you do any welding)

Just heat the cases and shock the case a few times on the floor and it'll drop out - try the easy stuff before you go all fancy.

Update: the shell is out !!
it turned out to be a bit of everyone’s ideas rolled in to one
he hired a bearing puller but the lips on the race were to small
for it to catch on too. So he run a couple of small welds onto the race
let it cool then it popped out with the puller
the welding was the trickiest bit as the photo did not really tell the whole story
the shell was located at the back of the narrow gear box and it was still attached to the bike

big thanks to all who offered advice!!
