    Arrow On ya kittie!

Well done for doing the descient thing and the responsible thing. Last time I was there I could see and hear the attitude. I go up there on a regular basis to see my son and I allways get warned about the place. Last time I wore on of my "Taranaki Hard Core" garmets (local surf label). I kept getting asked if it was a Taranaki local gang!! I laughed each time, until someone came up behind me and tried to pick a fight.
Must be a Northland thing? The first time I was in Auckland by myself I got involved in an arguement. Three skin heads was hassling a young asian couple in Queen Street, who I picked knew little english. At that stage I had a shaved head, rolled up jeans & black leather mack boots. One pulled a knife so I hit him. The whole country is becoming more and more like America. If you do help, your damned, the skinhead tried to get me charged and I can be sued as a RN helping out in the community. If you don't help, then your a dyslexic maggot with a lack of morals.

I've also been warned about the place. Have been wanting to move down there for some time and I have been warned again and again not to. Maybe I should take peoples advice and avoid that area and think of moving somewhere else instead. Reckon you could be in the gutter bleeding to death and someone would rather steal your handbag, clothes or shoes than help you out.

Never had a problem in Auckland as yet. Though I had a hooker follow me around calling me a bitch and wanting a scrap cause she tried to get some from the guy I was dating at the time and his friend. they turned her down so she felt the need to follow us around for a while.

Sadly theres no where that you can go to get away from this type of bullshit. So what do you do? :spudwhat:

Sadly I can understand where your coming from. Its because of people that do things like that, that innocent people who only want to help get themselves in shit up to their neck because someone stupidly decides to point the finger. If I was male I would do the same thing, and gone and gotten another female.

    Hey kittie,

for caring. That's awesome and (as I think you observed) it makes you stand out from the crowd. Never stop doing that.

Lots of people talk (do unto others etc), but very few people do something about it. I'm willing to be a lot of them walking past/over/around got that "twinge" of shock seeing someone in distress but quickly "got over it". You didn't - again... never stop doing that.

    You dun good hun

Although there is minor B/S happening in New Plymouth, its nothing like what is happening up there. Although i suspect that its just a matter of time before it si:eyepoke:
My way of dealing with is avoiding it when I can. Although I allways feel abliged(sp) to help those in trouble. I'm seriously considering moving to the south island and I reckon I'll live there within the next decade. The people down there have a different outlook on life and get on with it.
Also I want to buy a small block of land (15 hectares) one day and I reckon down there would be the go. Although I'll be waiting awhile for the finances to be able to do it.

I have considered stuffing off to aussie, have a place there and my aunt and uncle have been asking me to come over. All I'd have to do is sell my car and I'd be gone. hmm... something to really really consider....

yep but some places are nice, just like here in NZ. It was talked about that I went over there once before. But particular things kept me here. Mums not moving over there now but its still been talked about that I go over. Got nothing keeping me here anymore so what have I got to lose? :P

Only been here(Whangarei) 6ish months now but have noticed a general ignorance about.
There's also a genuine racist undercurrent going on which surprises me fully having moved from Hokianga...opposite there, less Honkies. I don't understand racist attitudes personally, people are people....wankers everywhere
In short nah not all "selfish wankers" but a healthy potition certainly dished this way. Nothing like Auck's tho...

I dunno maybe living in tiny little towns you miss out on seeing these sorts of things. I've only noticed it since I started going to Whangarei. Did start noticing it in Kerikeri also, but not as bad as what its like down there.

Are ya flirting again boy? ...just waitng on my GSXR1000 from Maunders ...zero sleeps and 2-4 hours to go!

I found in Hoki,Kittie, that everyone did help ya out but then again it was small enough that most at least knew of ya anyways so if they didn't ya could hassle the buggers later
Nearly got myself mugged 3 weeks ago by the bus station here in Whangaz! LOL..was a good giggle. Thought 8 against me was a little harsh but there ya go. Just hope next time there aren't more of 'em.
