My mums' mate - HRH Liz

My mum went to Buckingham palace (again) last week in order to meet Queen Liz. It's the second time they've 'met'.

As my mum approached Her Majesty she said, " Hello Sue (mama Biff), nice to meet you again."

"How's your son?" (I've also met her. Liz that is, not my mum, well I have met my mum, ahh foget it)

He, he. I'm freakin royalty me.

You gonna throw up on her/in her handbag? Or just gonna cop a feel once she's pissed out?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Not nice to call your mum a dog - HRH's first corgi was called Susan - but of course, being a right royal pain whatever, you'd know that...
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

She wanted to know about the OTHER son, not the remittance man son fired off to New Zealand for some indiscretion!!

Loads of work mate, but can't be arsed to do any. Arrived home on Friday - off again tomorrow. So technically I'm at home packing my bags.

Bored? Nah - just showing off - again.

Ok - but only because you're a nice chap (and your lady is cute).

But, in true regal fashion, she'll have to kneel before me first.....

Hehehe, thanks, so does this mean that I can now claim diplomatic immunity.

Nice - co-pilot's uncle was Sir Roden Cutler VC. 'Uncle Ro'. He was a good mate of HRH too. Longest serving and most poular governor of NSW. Order of the garter and all that.

Got his VC for actions against the Vichy French in Africa - captured a machine gun placement behind enemy lines and held if for 5 days providing invaluable recon at the cost of his badly wounded leg.

Had several 'audiences' with him later in life. Told me yarns about his mates Lizzy and one D.G.Bradman.

A great man and unaffected by it. Just a bloke - apart from his deeds. I opened with 'We've got something in common....' and he was wrapt in my medal story too, being the former patron of the Society that awards them.

He died 2 years ago - not long after Colleen McCulloch wrote his biography.
The signed copy is a treasure. Co-pilot had a pride of place in one of the biggest Civic ceremonies Sydney ever saw.

Nice work your mum - what was she there for?

Wow - Sir Roden Cutler VC, AK, KCMG, KCVO, CBE. A very well known guy in some circles. Huge respek.

Tea, cucumber sandwhiches and a yarn. My mum's the director of a well known international voluntary organisation. She got her *BE a couple of years back.

Haven't been. Won't be (this side of crimbo). I was side-tracked by something else. So I met the people I needed to somewhere else.

    Has been?
Will be soon. Farq I need a sleep.
