13 years communcations in a variety of lurvly places around NZ and the world. Been out for a life time (7 years) now..
served nz navy 4 yrs
No it doesn't!................4 1/2 years RNZN (CY and T.K), been in RNZAF for the last two, so 6 1/2 years, still un-promoted! hahaha, that's what I get for being a re-tread huh? Haven't been deployed anywhere since iv'e been a Flyboy, in the puss I was never home- although that was the intention of the service and trade change so not a complaint! I just feel sorry for the young fullas who thought the Air Force would send them somewhere.......

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

NO not you either! Hmmmmm a bit grumbly from me but if you haven't done a recruit course - passed and contributed you can't really say you've served in the defence force......that's just my opinion though if everone feels different well then ok. (I just feel as a civilian your doing a civilian job behind a fence, not really a seviceman, no offence yes you are important and needed etc but it's not the same)

i tend to agree. No slight intended to those civilian staff members, but it just aint the same.
10 years in the Marine Engineering branch of the RNZN. Been out 17 years but still can't shake my past. At my present workplace, out of 19 staff, 10 of us are all ex Navy. All from the Marine Engineering branch, and all roughly from the same era. Makes for an extremely comfy workplace when you can tell your manager that he's acting like a cunt without fear of recrimination. (We were apprentices together.)

Yes...there is a Motorcycle club for ex and currently serving members of the defence force...this includes terrys. At the moment there is a chapter in Auckland....Christchurch here in blenheim and talk of one starting up in the deep south. We have 16 members here in blenheim....unsure of membership in other chapters but it is extensive. There are also The Patriots Australia who we are affiliated with and they have chapters in most states and The Patriots in the UK who we have contact with. New members are more than welcome!!!! Plenty of organised and impromtu rides..poker runs...and tours to rallys etc.
For more info feel free to PM me, and I can put you in touch with the secretary of your nearest chapter if you so desire.
The national website is still a bit out of date....underconstrution etc.
