Just a bubby only did 3 1/2 years NZ Army. 1 yr as a heavy plant op. Thena couple as a Draughtsman at Defence HQ based a piss-up camp, Fort Dorset.
Funniest shit I joined up to get a career (why I left Wairoa) and went home after basic, I ended up being there for 8 months coz I was there when cyclone Bola hit in March '88. Got paid to live away while living at home.

Hey dude, I put in the 717 and went straight from avionics into the security industry. There is some excellent money to be made if you specialise in the Access Control Industry.
You should find out who the biggest access control companies are for Tauranga and get talking to them.
The industry is awesome to work in. Changing scenery every day, company car and cellphone saves heaps, and a huge variety of different products to learn that are forever changing.
