Fun bike expecially when people move over and slow down thinking your a cop. Not sure what price to ask though.
It's of course gone round the clock hence km's being so low
Might also consider a straight trade.![]()

Cheers. Friend told me about it after taking me along for the coast to coast.
That is one nice origonal looking bike
How much ya thinking?

To be honest i'm not really sure ,a friend told me don't take less than $3000 (However i am open to suggestions)since theres only a few of them still around and non that i know of that have the original lights and siren. The reason i want to sell is so i end up with a bike that can carrier a pillion because to convert this one would be kinda sacraligious.
If its any help there were two on trade me--both with all the police lights -one in wellywood and one in CHCH --well one sold for $1500 and the ChCH one was passed in
Um actually ive owned um like 15 of these ex cop bikes and if ya want to keep her origonal AND have a dual seat I might be able to help.
If you buy a xz 400 seat relocate the rear hinge forward and reshape the seat lockcatch on the seat you will be able to use the factory seat hinge mounts.of course ya could just be a gammy sod and score a civvy xj750 seat -that just mounts straight onto a P but is sligtly bent up at the rear because of the higher rear fender mount. You can then just remove the ticket box complete with rack and rear crash bar and bolt rear pegs where the crash bar mounts on.-swapping her from police spec to a pillion carrier will take about an hour once ya have the seat sorted.

There is a guy that goes into Motohaus to see Kerry that has a ex cop bike as well...
I think he owns a NZ ex-cop bike and a american CHiPs bike...
He brings it out to the big VARIETY Bash rides.
Yea Ive see those bikes--ones a FZ750 cop bike -and there was a GSX750 ef cop bike in Colemans
I almost bought a honda 1100 ex cop bike but diddnt have enough moolah

Are you allowed to ride it round like that with no 'impersonating a police officer' offence?
Just curious and ignorant!
you must be able to.... as there is also a old black and white cop car out in West Auckland that travels around from time to time..
But I guess the police officers on here will be able to answer that question correctly.
Nah I think you have to be a cop to use them on the road from memory. My neighbor who I used to volunteer at motat with was an ex MOT cop for many years. He said he can't use the lights on the road of the old bmw cop bike they got there... makes one hell of a racket when he does though![]()
Thanks for the info frosty. Well now i know maybe $1500 or about is a good price, so might stick it on trade me. I still really dont want to take of the ticket box etc just feels kinda wrong but really appreciate the idea thanks.
No lights are supposed to be covered for general riding. The guy i bought it of told me he flashed a few people and the cops turned up on his door step with a kind word not to do it again.
if i remember correctly theres one of these still at colemans (from motat) at the moment if you want to get a closer look at one.
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis
http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/a...sp?id=42460160 is similar and currently over reserve at $1100, but lower ks. Now, I've got a vested interest because I'd quite like to buy yours...Originally Posted by Canine
