I thought it was a poxy story from 1940 - why should it be different now.

Biomechanics and physics conclude that bone, muscle and tendon have maximum size capability way below the specification of the animal in this tosh. Its weight would break its legs if it tried to stand up.

1933 I think, and the storyline sucked then

The biomechanics does it in, and the square cube law. When an object doubles in size, it's surface area increases by a factor of 4, but the volume increases by a factor of 8.

The poor bastard has no way of generating enough energy to keep going, and if he did, his surface area wouldn't be great enough to shed the heat he creates. Boil-in-a-furry-bag.

It's not Physics, it's 50 year old aerodynamics theories, and it's not ALL bees, just bumble bees. Our knowledge of composites, bonding, and different contruction techniques has revealed that bumble bees can indeed fly, and also hover.

It may be a movie, but it's a very wet one, and the original argument was raised by Big Dave. Are you too chicken to take it up with him?

Regards less of you imfamous lot PJ (except Bigdave's rescue aside) is the man, makes great movies and by doing so also helps NZ heaps, maybe we could all band together and get him to do a M/C movie using 3,000 KB extra's.

Haven't seen the film yet , but I'm still looking forward to it.
