Thumbs up Newbie from Wellinton - checking in

    Hi everyone

A mate told me about KB and I have found myself checking out the site most mornings. Very impressed with the recent support for “Two Smoke (Chris) and general activity here.

I live in Miramar, Wellington and recently brought a Triumph Speed Triple from Wellington Motorcycles. Ok you pay a bit more from the dealers but the guys there have been great – real friendly and helpful and have taken an ongoing interest in my bike, introduced me to the RAT (Riders Association of Triumph), informed us about organised rides and riding courses and offers to take the latest speed triple for a test ride.

I have had bikes most of my life including Honda XL125, Honda XR200 Kawasaki Z200, Yamaha RD350 and Honda XR600. Spent most of my time hacking through the east coast forestry and not some much on the road.

After my XR600 was stolen I had a forced break from bikes - for about 5 years now - the speed triple heralds my return and a full transition to road riding which is taking a bit of an adjustment. I am looking forward to heading out on some organised rides in the New Year. Although I have a 200+ km bike I have a 120km brain so I like to cruise it mainly.

Ok that’s about it for now

Let me be the first...... welcome......... now did you bring beer?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

First - Welcome. This is a nuthouse and you've already met one of the many (Sniper) I mean that in the nicest possible way of course. It's good to see more Wellington riders turning up here, there are too many Aucks already floundering around.
Sniper can't really drink your beer coz he's down south, but as his duly elected representative in these parts I can - so bring us the ones you were gonna give him!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Woohoo, another one for the SCC.

120km/hr brain - sounds like mine, except for the brain bit.

    Welcome to KB.
