    which wire is positive?

connecting some new indicators onto my bike and it has a wire from the led indicator and has a connector that says clip it onto the positive indicator wire.
the wires are black and the black with white line.
    which one will be positive?
is it the one that goes onto the base of the lightbulb socket?

Strike them together and watch which way the spark jumps... it jumps TO the +ve wire...

Problem is it happens at the speed of light so you have to have your wits about you.

Or you could grab a multimeter, put it to DC and put it across the wires. If the reading is a -ve value, the wire connected to the negative probe/clip is the one you want otherwise its the one touching the positive probe...

On a TL1000S the Black is positive, the Black/White is going to the Negative terminal on the battery.

which is why I said 'often'.

Lick it. It's only 12v, you'll be fine.. One will give you a slight tingle, the other won't do anything. The one that tingles is the live one.

If you've only got a test light, clip the lead to the negative terminal on the battery, and turn the indicators on. The wire which makes the test light flash will be the positive

Of course if you really get stuck.... you could just do it the old fashioned way and compare it to the other side wiring!
Generally on suzuki's the black is negative and black/? is positive.

I would have just wired them up and if they didn't work, I would have swapped the wires around.

Meh, that'd have worked. Actually I can't really see why they wouldn't work either way around anyway..

thers 2 wires and only one connects to the led indicator.
so it has to be the positive one.

but they are going strong now.
