    Sunday Morning to Taupo

I *might* be making the trip to taupo to watch/video/join in the fun at the track day. If anyone else is going to be heading down first thing sunday morning might pay to go as a group just to keep company and make sure no one is nodding off.

I'll be leaving the north shore at approx 5.30am, so if anyone else in auckland wants to meet up, now would be a good time to tell me

was just going to honker down SH1. Havent put much thought into it really. I just know that if i stick to SH1 i'll end up in taupo at some stage, and if i get to wellington i have to turn around

    meet in tirau bout 0615?

im guessing its around half way. Seeing that its 297km from my house to spa road (the turn off to the track) that would see me leaving here at around 0500 and travelling at a conservative 100kmh the whole way, taking 3hrs to get to taupo (just in time for scrutineering)

might need to be a tad later than 0615, i think it takes 1.5hrs to cambridge. Either way, tell me what time you reckon you will be in tirau and i'll aim to be there at the same time.

I'm gonna strip as much as I can to ride on the road then go to Andy's house..... then stip the rest there.

Nothing like being prepared and I like the stripped look

    JSG- you are queer.

Jahrasti, hamiltron is bout 1.5hr from aucks on the main line, so if your out and ready at 6 (looks like im leaving here at 4.30) then im sure we can catch up somewhere.

Im gonna be going down SH1 the whole way, so if you give me a street near where you will be i can look on wises.co.nz and have a good idea of where to look out for you.

That would imply Averaging 100 kph, which means travelling at 130 - 140kph!
Allow 4 hrs if you're not in a hurry

just been talking to a few people and they've said that its 3hrs almost exactly from where i live so im leaving auckland approx 0440 to allow for fuel/food/piss/shit stop along the way somewhere, im guessing it'll be at a gasser in tirau at approx 6.45

    Cool

Gareth - Last time I rode that way (down SH1)
I fuelled up at AutoBahn... then again at Cambridge then Taupo.

(9.5 litre tank... 200km approx before going to reserve...)
